I have frequently questioned the voters of Kentucky. They have failed the American people multiple times by electing radical and unqualified legislators; most notably Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. But now the exposure of the Governor of Kentucky, Matt Bevin, as an alarmist, and an un-educated anti-American, I know that we cannot trust the voting public of the “Bluegrass State.”
First, let’s tell some truth. I know if you are a Republican you don’t want to hear it, but I always keep my promises.
Donald Trump is the greatest danger to the safety and security of our nation in history. He surpasses Dick Cheney in his love for war because he claims that he would not discount the use of nuclear weapons. Experts have already stated that his proposals for our nation’s economy would force our nation into a deeper recession than that caused by the George W. Bush Administration.
Now, let’s discuss Governor Bevin and his classic Republican tactics of creating unwarranted fear, anger, and hatred.
Bevin was speaking at the “Value Voters Summit,” which is an extremist right wing group that has nothing to do with its name. He said that “blood will be shed” if Hillary Clinton is elected president. He continued to demean the very successful presidency of Barrack Obama, although he is the first president since Jimmy Carter not to send our military into battle, and was another Democrat who was forced to repair an economy nearly destroyed by his Republican predecessor.
“I have nine children. It breaks my heart to think that it might be their blood that is needed to redeem something, to reclaim something that we — through our apathy and our indifference — have given away,” he said, paraphrasing Thomas Jefferson’s famous 1787 comment, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
Last time I listened to Donald Trump speak as the party’s standard bearer, he is the man who would repeal sections of our Constitution.
Bevin used the Jefferson quote out of context. The founding father was writing a letter to William Smith in 1787 regarding “Shay’s Rebellion,” which had nothing to do with national security.
Bevin is a perfect example of why our nation is so divided; why hatred has replaced compassion. He is obviously a Trump supporter, and that in itself is worrisome. Any man or woman who believes in the America which nurtured me for 70 years cannot believe that Trump is genuine, or even qualified to lead our nation. He is an ignorant buffoon who would fail the majority of the American people. He would further damage the lives of minorities in support of white supremacists. He would take rash actions likely to place our nation into another unwinnable war.
The voters of Kentucky need an education. They must realize that the Republicans they elect are harming our nation in ways which may be irreparable.
This is not a time in our nation’s history to be frivolous. Our government is in gridlock; we face multiple domestic problems; the Trump campaign has re-introduced racism and bigotry into our daily discussion; ISIS and North Korea continue to challenge world peace. Donald Trump has no solution for any of these situations.
Please inform our nation’s people about the truth and repost. Thank you.
