We are known by the company we keep. Those we associate with shape our values and or morals. As these men and women reveal themselves, they are also exposing us. Donald Trump’s top three staff members are deplorable hypocrites who represent the worst of America.
After Hillary Clinton said that half of Trump’s supporters were a “basket of deplorables,” Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway tweeted: “One day after promising to be aspirational & uplifting, Hillary Clinton insults millions of Americans.”
Does anyone who knows Conway’s history believe that she cares about the American people? In 2008, after Wall Street’s greed forced thousands of foreclosures across the nation, she blamed the American people for Bush’s follies.
“These people bought houses they could not afford,” Conway said on a Fox News panel at the time. “This country spends money like a bunch of pigs. They buy things they say that they need…when they actually want them.”
It appears that Ms. Conway believes that calling millions of Americans “pigs” is acceptable, but “deplorables” is not.
Conway is a well-known spin doctor without any experience in elections.
Trump’s ‘main man,’ his CEO, is Steve Bannon. Bannon was recently the head man at Breitbart, the very extreme right wing blog. Articles Bannon wrote or approved included subjects such as racism, misogyny, Islamophobia, homophobia, and other forms of bigotry. Bannon made disparaging statements regarding “Jews” at his daughter’s school. Worst of all, he is a member of “Alt-Right.” If you have never heard of this group, it can best be described as “skinheads with money.” Bannon is a white supremacist.
The most recent hire on Trump’s staff is David Bossie. Bossie is the president of the un-American ‘Citizens United.’ He, too, is inexperienced. Other than heading the organization that believes the wealthy should be allowed to buy elections, his only other political experience was during Bill Clinton’s campaign in 1992. He scoured Arkansas searching for any scandal which might allow George H.W. Bush to win the election. He trespassed on private property, and even peeked in windows.
This is Trump’s staff; and his staff tells us a lot about the real Donald Trump, not the façade he is now offering the American people. Over a period of 14 months Trump exposed himself and what he truly believes in. This is why dozens of Republicans have refused to support him.
No one who is truly an American could vote for Trump. He seeks the destruction of sections of the Bill of Rights, and would move our governmental system from a Democratic Republic to Fascism. He is a member of those with power and privilege in America who believe that only they know what is good for the majority. Trump is a megalomaniac whose sanctimonious beliefs would destroy what is left of our government.
