Did Reince Priebus Force Ted Cruz to Flip-Flop?

Evil Ted

Last week the RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus, threatened any member of the GOP who failed to support Trump. He said that they might not receive assistance from the party when seeking reelection.

During the primary season, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz engaged in a vicious battle. The war of words reached such a low level that they began to attack each other’s wives. The hatred continued through the convention in July where Cruz made a speech basically refusing to support Trump. He was booed by the crowd which could be labeled a “basket of deplorables.”

Now, here’s the truth. Cruz plans to run again in 2020. He needs the party’s support. Today he issued a 741 word Facebook statement, saying that he will support the only candidate offered by the Republican Party who was less qualified and more of a danger to our nation than himself. He “explained” his decision because he wants to “keep his word” to vote for the Republican nominee and because he finds Hillary Clinton “wholly unacceptable.”

I must inform Mr. Cruz that the word he is looking for is “hypocrite.” He is not only a horrible senator, he has proven himself to be an immoral and un-principled man.

Here’s an even bigger laugh; Trump said that he was “honored” to have “lyin Ted’s” endorsement. Really?

Cruz may have created more problems for himself with his capitulation. His loyal supporters are not pleased with his act of surrender.

On Twitter, conservative columnist and talk show host Steve Deace called the move the “worst political miscalculation of my lifetime” and said he suspected the move would cause more #NeverTrump voters to “dig in their heels deeper than be moved by Cruz’s move.”

“Cruz has nothing to gain from this, and everything to lose,” Cruz’s Iowa co-chair, Joel Kurtinitis, said in a message to NPR. “His brand is based on principled resistance. Submissive conformity to Trump — a man who personally slandered Cruz’s family and hasn’t apologized — just cements Trump as the unopposed alpha in the GOP and hangs Cruz’s conservative resistance out to dry.”

“This endorsement will not convince #NeverTrump folks to change our minds about The Donald,” he continued, “but we may well be forced to reconsider our support for Sen. Cruz.”

Has Cruz signed his own “political death warrant?” True Americans can only hope and pray.

This is simply more proof that the GOP is broken beyond repair. Many join me in believing that this is a good thing. For more than a decade the Republican Party has moved away from its former self. It was a strong voice for the American people, but devolved into the party of special interests. Extremists took control, and moved the party so far to the right it became dysfunctional.

Cruz has obviously removed himself from his position as the leader of the TEA Party. Supporting Trump rejects the Koch brothers. There is no doubt that his supporters are correct, and he has committed political suicide.

No loss for America.

Let all clear-thinking American know the truth. Please repost, and I thank you.
