The Republican Party became the biggest hypocrites in history when they allowed Donald Trump to become their nominee for the presidency. Although there was a broad and angry ‘anti-Trump’ movement, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus led the GOP into complete destruction when he bowed to the “orange man,” and urged others to do the same. Now Trump’s arch enemy, Ted Cruz, has become the biggest hypocrite of all, offering his support for the man who personally attacked not only him, but his wife and father.
The primary reason why Republican’s should not have nominated Trump is the fact that he is not a Republican. Personal freedom and less government have always been at the core of the GOP’s foundation; (at least in theory). Trump is a fascist who believes in government control over nearly everything.
Hillary Clinton has pointed to this fact repeatedly, and many prominent Republicans agree with her, including the last two Republican presidents, and the last two GOP nominees.
Here are some of the differences proposed by Trump in opposition to the party he leads. (Of course they do not offer any concrete way to pay for them; and does he really mean what he says? Not often.)
This first item would end the sequester. He would raise the nation’s defense budget $500 billion over 10 years. He doesn’t say where the money will come from, but that never matters to Trump; he admits that he’s good at using “other people’s money.”
Trump says that he would spend between $550 billion, and one-trillion dollars over five years to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure. “Where’s the beef?”
Trump would pass legislation to prevent Ford Motor Company from moving its small car production to Mexico. He apparently does not know that Ford has been producing cars south of our border for years. He also suggested a 35 percent tax on each vehicle produced in Mexico. Who will pay for that? Consumers.
Trump, who is guilty of failing to pay contractors, and the destruction of multiple small business, says that he believes in eminent domain, the policy of forcibly taking land needed for development, and compensating the residents and businesses displaced. He says it is “wonderful.”
As we know, Trump’s focus has been on immigration. He wants to increase border security by $50 billion over five years; but will not say how our country will pay for it either.
While the Republican Party has suggested a complete reformation of entitlement programs, Trump takes the Democratic view.
“I will do everything within my power not to touch Social Security, to leave it the way it is,” he has said. He has also said: “It’s my intention to leave Social Security the way it is — not increase the age and to leave it as is.”
About the latter, he is not wrong, but this is definitely a Democratic point of view. Social security is not an ‘entitlement;’ it is fully funded by employers and employees; the government continues to embezzle money which belongs to the American people.
Trump seeks control over everything in our nation. He stands alone as the “party of bigger government.”
We cannot let Trump destroy our democracy; please repost; thank you.
