For 15 months the mainstream media has supported Donald Trump. I am a doubter about tonight’s debate responses. America no longer has a viable fourth estate, and not a single true newsperson who would be strong enough to force the candidates to directly answer the questions. Trump has been given a ‘free ride’ for 15 months; why should it change in one night?
Will the media tell the truth about Trump’s whining all night long? He complained about her television ads, claiming that he is being attacked. If using his own words is attacking him, then he’s correct. He said that she’s been in politics for 30 years and had time to accomplish all of her goals; really? Was she the president for 30 years? Did she control Congress for 30 years? This was proof of how little Trump understands about our political system.
Trump continued his attempts to both discredit Hillary, and to talk around the issues. When someone has no answers, this is the only tactic available, and Lester Holt let him get away with it.
The truth is that Hillary Clinton crushed Trump in the first debate. He is a man without substance, and is very un-presidential. I expect to hear the media continue its own tactics of setting the bar very low for Trump, and demanding higher standards from Clinton. If they tell the truth, for once, they must admit that she answered Holt’s questions and presented a platform which will positively affect all Americans. Trump offered more free hot air.
We got what we expected from Donald Trump; nothing. I did not hear him offer a single concrete proposal to accomplish what his rhetoric claims. This is what we could expect if America made the mistake of electing him. If the debate proved one thing, it is the fact that his lack of experience makes him un-electable, and the absence of a a single qualification disallows him residence in the White House.
For the most part, our nation has a history of electing presidents who are great statesmen, and who can answer the difficult questions with intelligence and a direct response; this is not Donald Trump. I can make the claim that I could defeat ISIS, but I do not have the knowledge or ability to do so. Trump is in the same, identical situation. He refuses to offer a solution because he has none. “It’s a secret.”
Hillary Clinton was accurate relating to Trump’s “tax plan.” All experts claim that his would be a gift to the wealthy, ineffective for the working class, and add trillions of dollars to the national debt.
All in all, Trump was Trump. He made many claims; all lies; and offered nothing of substance to the people of our nation.
If you saw what I saw in the debate; please repost. Thank you.
