It appears that Kellyanne Conway’s leash has broken; Donald Trump is once again being himself. Without any substance to offer the American people, he is renewing his attack on Hillary Clinton’s “trumped-up” health issues. He is also claiming that she is not faithful to her husband, former President Bill Clinton.
Declining to stay on message, and ignoring his teleprompter, he claimed that Hillary “could be crazy” and lacks the “stamina” to be president — even imitating Clinton stumbling into her car while leaving a 9/11 ceremony last month.
Trump could not resist bringing up the issue of Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual encounters and asked how Ms. Clinton could remain “loyal” to her husband. Of course, we all know that this is simply “the pot calling the kettle black.” Trump is well-known for his philandering, and his extreme misogyny.
Then the man with the weakest temperament in political history, and questionable intellect, offered another desperate and failed attack on his opponent.
“She’s got bad temperament. She could be crazy. She could actually be crazy,” Trump said, turning away from his teleprompters.
Is this Trump’s plan for communicating with other leaders from around the world if he is elected? Are unwarranted personal attacks his only ability? I know that he is unfit to be our nation’s president, but would he be a national disgrace? It appears so.
It is obvious that Trump remains angry about his embarrassing defeat during Monday’s debate. He continues to display his weakness of character and weak temperament.
Trump continues to ignore the fact that he has not released an actual medical report or his tax returns. What is he hiding? Questioning Hillary’s health forces me to ask if Trump has serious health or mental problems, and is attacking her to cover-up his own serious condition.
His tax returns would obviously reveal his failure to support charitable organizations, and the fact that he is a failed businessman.
Clinton’s campaign has revealed a New York Times report which exposed Trump’s 1995 tax returns. He declared a $916 million loss, which would make him exempt from paying taxes for years.
Of course Trump’s campaign attempted to cover-up the facts by spinning the truth.
They said that Trump has a “fiduciary responsibility” as a businessman to pay no more tax than legally required. It also charged that the report proved that the Times and the “establishment media” are merely an arm of the Clinton campaign.
They have not responded to the Arizona Republic’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton and its criticism of the “orange man,” or the declaration by USA Today which encouraged voters to “vote for anyone but Trump.” Are they simply in denial, or is this another example of supreme desperation; or both?
We must accept the fact that with both an unqualified candidate, and an inexperienced campaign staff, they have no choice but to direct personal attacks against Hillary; they have no other weapons. Trump fails on the issues, experience, qualifications, intelligence, and temperament. He has nothing to bring to the presidency.
Once again, to use the words of the last Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, “Trump is a phony.”
