Gary Johnson Fails Every Presidential Test but Receives Support

As he was four years ago, Gary Johnson is the Libertarian candidate for president. He is the former Governor of New Mexico, and apparently did a fine job. The problem is that he is completely unqualified to be the President of the United States.

When asked about the situation in Aleppo, he said “what’s Aleppo.” When asked to name one head of a foreign nation he admired, he was unable to answer the question. Not every American could answer those questions, but a man who wants to be the leader of the free world should.

A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for Donald Trump; that fact is undeniable. Some Bernie Sanders supporters claim that they will vote for Johnson, rather than ‘settle’ for Trump or Hillary. This would be a mistake on many levels. They would be voting for a man who disagrees with Bernie’s position on the issues, and refuses to support.

Johnson’s position on climate change is “probably.” He believes that it is “probably” caused by man, and that it is “probably” happening, but that our government should focus on “real” issues.

Johnson also opposes free college tuition for everyone.

When I was much younger, I voted for third party candidates. As an Independent, I voted my conscience. I still vote my conscience, but I also consider the consequences of a presidency for my country and my loved ones. In the present situation, I know that Donald Trump would be disastrous for our future, and that Hillary Clinton supports most of the issues I believe critical to the majority of the American people.

Gary Johnson is likely a very good man; but a president must be exceptional. Hillary Clinton is the most qualified candidate in our nation’s history. She will not need to ‘be trained.’ Hillary will surround herself with qualified advisors, likely from both sides of the aisle.

Voting for Trump would move our nation backwards. Financial experts claim that he would move us into another recession, and widen the gap between the wealthy and the working class.

Worst of all, Trump would repeal sections of the Constitution. He has openly stated that not every American deserves equal protection under the law, or the freedom to practice the religion of their choice. His policies would force women to remain second-class citizens.

Our nation must insure that the former never happens. Voting for Johnson would only be an act of protest. I firmly believe in protesting, but this would be voting against yourself and your family.

If you agree; please repost. Thank you.
