The day that it was announced that Steve Bannon was Donald Trump’s new campaign CEO, David Duke and his fellow members of the Ku Klux Klan celebrated. Their hopes that Trump had become a voice for their “cause,” were confirmed. Bannon was formerly the head of ‘Breitbart.’ For those of you who don’t know what that is, it is an extreme right wing ‘rag’ which prides itself on hating everything.
When Bannon led ‘Breitbart,’ he wrote or approved articles denouncing blacks, Hispanics, the LGBT community, and women. Bannon has also made anti-Semitic comments about children at his daughter’s school. Most importantly, he is a member of “Alt-Right.” You may have heard about this group when Hillary Clinton denounced it. It is an organization of white supremacists.
When Donald Trump began to make racist remarks early in his campaign, he was endorsed by the KKK. When Trump failed to reject their support immediately, questions began to arise; they have now been confirmed.
Former KKK Grand Wizard, David Duke, recently attended a gun show in Louisiana. He spoke to anyone who would listen, and although he was not wearing his traditional robe and hood, his message was the same. He displayed the fact that he now feels empowered thanks to the fact that a major political party supports his cause.
“I love it,” said Duke, 66, tearing into a chicken garlic pizza at a nearby restaurant later. “The fact that Donald Trump’s doing so well, it proves that I’m winning. I am winning.”
Like it or not, Hillary Clinton was speaking the truth when she called half of Trump’s supporters a “bag of deplorables.” Many of his followers are racists and bigots whose views were hidden from the general public. They now have a voice and a leader.
If I’m wrong, what purpose does Bannon serve in Trump’s campaign? He has no experience in the political arena. He brings nothing to the battle for the presidency with the exception of his extreme prejudice. Why is he the major component on Trump’s campaign staff?
Of course you will never see the media ask these questions. They have given Trump a free pass. ABC, NBC, CBS, and the others have all learned from FOX Noise; ratings come first. No longer are facts important. No longer do they offer accurate information and allow the viewer to decide what they do or do not believe. The media has given Trump free campaign advertising worth many million dollars.
Hillary is ‘dull.’ She speaks of America’s future and how she would contribute to its success. Trump speaks gibberish, while attacking everyone who opposes him or makes a demeaning comment.
David Duke has a right to celebrate. The Republican Party and the media have accepted his vile and distorted beliefs.
I admire President Obama, but he is very wrong when he says that racism is not growing in America.
