Donald Trump brags constantly, and one of his claims is that his fake reality show, “The Apprentice,” was a huge success and legitimate. We know that ‘if Trump’s lips are moving, he’s lying,’ so let’s take a look at “The Apprentice” behind the lights and cameras.
Trump has attempted to attract women to his group of supporters. Instead, he continues to expose himself as a misogynist and a sexist. His most recent attacks against former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado have set the standard for Donald Trump’s attitude about women. During his campaign, he has attacked other notable women such as Megyn Kelly, Ariana Huffington, Carly Fiorina, and Rosie O’Donnell.
Now the former crew members, staff, and contestants associated with “The Apprentice” are revealing how Trump acted when the cameras were not on. They described a “sexist, misogynistic climate on set.” Stories about inappropriate comments made to and about women were abundant.
Of course a spokesperson for Trump denied the accusations.
“These outlandish, unsubstantiated, and totally false claims fabricated by publicity hungry, opportunistic, disgruntled former employees, have no merit whatsoever,” spokeswoman Hope Hicks told the wire.) More “attack tactics” when Trump is criticized?
Former producer Katherine Walker told the AP that he constantly discussed women’s bodies, and who “would be a tiger in bed.” A crew member, who wished to remain anonymous, told AP that he often asked male contestants to rate the bodies of the women they were competing against. “If there was a break in the conversation, he would then look at one of the female cast members, saying, ‘You’re looking kind of hot today, I love that dress on you,’ then he would turn to one of the male cast members and say, ‘Wouldn’t you sleep with her?’”
Another crew member said that Trump complimented a camerawoman’s derriere, and her blond hair, while comparing her to his daughter, Ivanka.
Trump suggested that the women wear shorter dresses, and “asked one of the women her breast size at one point, or said, ‘Are those real or natural?’”
The tales go on and on, including an alleged agreement regarding photography and video of both men and women in various stages of undress, whether they were aware of the invasion of privacy or not. If they failed to sign the alleged agreement, they were removed from the show.
Trump’s sexist attitude towards women is just one of many issues which should immediately disqualify him from consideration to hold any public office. The fact that he is challenging Hillary Clinton for the presidency is both frightening and embarrassing. The Republican Party should be ashamed, instead, they have joined the party’s leader and support his every belief.
Morality, strength of character, and temperament must be considered when we cast our ballots for the most powerful elected official in the world. Trump can honestly be labeled a criminal, a misogynist, a racist, and a bigot. Is this the kind of leader the American people will choose on November 8th? If they do, the country of our founding fathers will be non-existent. All of the principles cherished by the courageous and intelligent men from our beginnings will be lost.
