Eric Trump Attempts to Spin Donald Trump’s Tax Problem

Donald Trump’s younger son, Eric, sat for an interview just after the vice-presidential debate. CNN’s Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer were relentless as they questioned him about Donald Trump’s income tax records.

When Dana Bash asked Eric about why Trump hadn’t released his tax returns, and simply ended the discussion, here was his reply.

“We pay a tremendous amount of taxes,” Eric Trump responded.

When the young Trump attempted to move the discussion away from taxes by strangely comparing his father’s failed business ventures to Hillary Clinton’s years of public service. Dana Bash refused to allow his pivot.

“Eric, my question, though: Has your father paid federal income taxes over the past 18 years?”

Once again, the young Trump attempted a pivot away from the subject and said that his father would release his tax returns upon completion of an audit, and then suggested that Hillary should release the transcripts of her speeches given to large corporations.

“Eric, I’m pretty impressed, quite frankly,” Bash said. “You haven’t been in politics long, but you’re doing the pivot quite well. If you could just put a button on this: Have you seen your father’s tax returns?”

“I don’t study our tax returns — that’s why you have an accountant,” Trump responded.

“But have you seen them?” Bash asked. “You’re confident that he’s paid federal taxes?”

“I’m answering the question,” Trump said. “Of course I’ve seen my father’s tax returns.”

Blitzer jumped in and asked a question about previous tax returns.

“Why not release those tax returns that are no longer under audit?” Blitzer said.

Trump said he was unaware of tax returns that were not under audit and characterized the line of questioning as “a whole distraction.”

Whenever any member of Trump’s team is asked a question, they either spin their answer, or move into a state of denial. Donald Trump cannot be defended; we’ve seen the worst of the “orange man.”

The truth is that no one with any concern for the welfare of our nation’s people endorses Donald Trump. Major newspapers have refused to support Trump, including those who have always endorsed Republicans, including the Arizona Republic, the Houston Chronicle, the San Diego Union-Tribune, and the South Florida Sun Sentinel. USA Today refused to endorse either candidate, but did encourage voters to cast their ballots for anyone but Trump.

The Trump campaign cannot be trusted. Eric is a perfect example of a campaign which refuses to directly answer a single question. They have no ideas, no solutions for our nation’s problems.

Help me in my effort to refuse to allow Trump to soil the White House sheets, and repost this. Thank you, and please vote.
