Kellyanne Conway Cannot Spin Away from Megyn Kelly

conway-2

Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, is not qualified to run anyone’s campaign, especially for the presidency. Her only talent is as a ‘spin doctor.’ She never gives a direct response to a question she does not want to answer. I have listened to her for years, and am fully aware that she is a phony. Conway met her match when she agreed to an interview with FOX Noise’ Megyn Kelly.

Kelly asked Conway to defend Trump’s low numbers with women, citing the fact that his comments regarding former Miss Universe, Alicia Machado, are unacceptable.

The ultimate ‘spin doctor’ refused to answer the question; instead she had this response.

“Why, in the new CNN poll, is Hillary at 53 percent among women? She’s running as the first female president. There’s something holding her back,” Conway said.

Maybe I’m not very bright, but I cannot find a single word in her response which relates to the question asked by Ms. Kelly. This was the only reason she was hired; to protect Donald Trump from his damaging rhetoric.

But Kelly was not surrendering to her spin, as many other have previously.

“She’s beating Donald Trump by some 20 points with women. I mean, why is Donald Trump at 32 percent?”

Once again, Conway attempted to deflect the question.

“Not really, not in all polls,” Conway protested. “But she’s got a gender gap of her own.”

Kelly was relentless: “She does,” Kelly said in response. “But you’re sitting here suggesting, why are her numbers low with women and you work for Donald Trump. His numbers are historically low for a Republican nominee with women. Historically low.”

Conway was just as adamant; refusing to answer the question directly. She pointed to the fact that both John McCain and Mitt Romney lost to women as well.

Kelly was ready for Conway’s deflection.

“Mitt Romney’s numbers are crushing Donald Trump’s numbers with women. Crushing them!”

Conway once again failed to explain away Trump’s dislike by women voters, and attempted to use the fact that there is more than one month until the election.

Kelly wasn’t accepting Conway’s failure to answer the question.

“There’s 35 days to go, Kellyanne. The criticism of Donald Trump is that he could win this race and that he was doing well and he was rebounding and his numbers in various states were rebounding. And then he went after Miss Universe and talked about her being too fat and talked about women’s looks again,” she said. “And women don’t like that, according to these polls.”

It is obvious that Conway expected to receive “soft-pedalled” questions from the FOX News personality. This has become the standard when Republican candidates and their representatives appear on the network. She was obviously mistaken.

In the last several weeks it has become apparent that Megyn Kelly is auditioning for a new job. She has frequently opposed her male counterparts on FOX, and is acting more like a real journalist. I’m not impressed, yet; but I am pleased to hear someone on the fake-news network ask real questions.
