As Mike Meyers used to say on “Saturday Night Live;” today, “I’m as happy as a little girl.” When I read about the hypocrites in the Republican Party, including Reince Priebus, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and others, scrambling to save not only some of the upcoming election, but also their party, I am both vindicated, and saddened.
What pleases me most is not the complete exposure of how morally unfit Donald Trump is to become our president, it is the fact that the Republican Party is what I’ve said it was for many years; a group of ambitious hypocrites who place their party before our nation and its people. All of the hypocrites involved, including Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, and, of course, Reince Priebus, the one who should be singled out for his traitorous support is John McCain.
In 2008, McCain’s campaign slogan was “Country First.” Of course he proved to be lying about that when he selected the totally unqualified Sarah Palin as his running mate, but this 2016 election season has proven the Senator a prevaricator at the highest level.
Until Trump became the GOP’s presumptive nominee, McCain denounced everything about the man who criticized his service record and heroism. McCain is up for reelection, and his cowardice to support his own statements and criticism of Trump, makes him the most disrespected man in Washington. He now supports Trump; he decided to put the Republican Party and his own ambitions ahead of the United States of America. Hypocrite.
Until Donald Trump became a successful politician, the Republican Party was clandestine regarding its racism, misogyny, homophobia, and bigotry towards Muslims. They found their leader. Two examples of selections by Donald Trump prove that he and his party are degenerates whose beliefs are in direct opposition to our Constitution, and the beliefs of the majority of our nation’s people.
Trump’s CEO is Steve Bannon. Bannon was the head of Breitbart; the most extreme of all offensive right wing publications. He wrote multiple articles in support of racism and constantly denounced the LGBT community. He is a member of “Alt-Right,” a group which openly supports white supremacy.
Mike Pence, Trump’s chosen running mate, was the first governor to enact anti-gay laws in his state of Indiana. He openly admits that he is a religious fanatic, and places the prosperity and future of his nation as a third priority. In the vice-presidential debate, he lied numerous times when he claimed that “Trump never said that.”
Accepting Trump as the party’s standard bearer was both a death wish for the presidency this year, but also a death wish for the Republican Party. Today there is a growing chasm between Trump supporters and anti-Trump factions. The TEA Party has become totally irrelevant.
Please help me spread the word that our nation must not “accept” Hillary, but realize that she will make a great president; please repost, and thank you.
