It seems that I have written frequently about Rudy Giuliani. I re-read the articles, and realized why. Every time Donald Trump says something stupid, hateful, or simply tells another blatant lie, Giuliani is right there to defend him. He has become a “tool” for Trump. But I’m becoming very concerned. Since his horrible performance at July’s convention, he appears to be suffering extreme mental impairment. It could be Alzheimer’s, senility, or maybe he has always been the ‘glass which is half-empty.
Giuliani was making an introduction for Trump in Ocala, Florida, Wednesday. He said that he believes that Hillary Clinton does not understand terrorism, and claimed that she was not at ground zero after 9/11 while she was a Senator from New York State. There’s only one problem with this lie; there are several pictures of her the day after the attacks when she returned from Washington, and at least one of them shows her with the former mayor.
“Yes, you helped to get benefits for the people that were injured that day,” he said of Clinton’s legislative efforts following the attacks, “but I heard her say one day she was there that day. I was there that day; I don’t remember seeing Hillary Clinton there.”
I think he has a serious problem. Either he is telling another absurd lie, or he truly cannot remember anything. Of course there is a third option; he lies so frequently that he can’t remember what he said the last time he lied about a subject.
The truth is that Hillary spent a great amount of time at ground zero, and was very involved. When she returned to Washington, she immediately sought assistance for the survivors of the victims of the cowardly attack, and for first responders. She not only toured the site with Giuliani, she joined Governor George Pataki as they examined the destruction.
Haven’t Trump, Giuliani, Gingrich, Christie, and other Republicans told enough lies about Hillary Clinton? They have the same fear of her as they did of Barrack Obama; they are both far more intelligent than anyone on the right side of the aisle. They cannot compete with her experience, qualifications, or her knowledge about our nation and its government.
If the American people use their intellect, and Trump loses on November 8th, I sincerely hope we’ve heard the last of Giuliani. He not only embarrasses himself, he is an embarrassment to our nation.
