The United States is a different country than it was a year ago. It is an angrier nation, and ugliness which formerly hid in the shadows is now in the open. Teachers in our schools report that bullying has increased. Donald Trump has defended the rights of white supremacists. He inciteds anger and violence at his rallies. The media has allowed him to call an entire race rapists and criminals. Trump believes that it is his right to sexually harass and abuse women because he has money and power. This is what impressionable minds see as America today.
Our nation is divided between Trump supporters and anti-Trump forces. The fire-bombing of a Republican office in North Carolina; GOP campaign headquarters in Orange County; is unforgivable and one man is directly responsible for extreme actions by both Democrats and Republicans.
But don’t expect Trump to accept any blame for the anger displayed by misguided anti-Trump supporters. He is once again spinning the truth.
“Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning,” Trump tweeted.
This is from a man who encourages violence, and built his campaign around hatred. His television ads have no resemblance to the man who attacks his opponents, and “name-calls” at his rallies. His extremely weak temperament is a danger to our nation and the world.
Trump’s supporters endorse their fascist leaders beliefs. Millions of our nation’s citizens who secretly harbored racism and bigoty found a leader; a voice. Women who remain in Trump’s camp are dominated by the men in their lives, and are members of the same group which would tell a victim of domestic violence that she probably deserved it. Although the evidence is clear, they refuse to believe the growing number of women who claim that Trump sexually abused them; that he is a dirty old man and a sexual predator.
Some of our young men and women are learning that immoral actions are acceptable. The media has never strongly denounced Trump. There are warnings requiring parental guidance for movies and television shows; they should be applied whenever Trump speaks to the public.
Thanks to one angy man, Hillary Clinton’s impressive record in the service of our nation has been damaged; and the media has failed to protected her. Trump is such a despicable man that the standards set by the media have reached a new low. On the other side, they hold Hillary to a very high standard. This is unfair and the only reason why Trump’s poll numbers are not far lower. The media is the only reason that Trump received the Republican Party’s nomination. Although his opponents were unqualified to become our president, some were experienced, and compared to Trump, they were good choices to become the GOP standard bearer.
Here’s the truth; the media encourages Trump to continue his campaign. His vile rhetoric has increased ratings for “news broadcasts.” America is no longer a country; it’s a business. Our nation’s motto is now “profit before people.”
Our future is in the balance. On November 8th our nation’s people will decide the direction America chooses in the 21st century. Will we become a nation controlled by fascism, or will we move forward with hope?
