Democrats and Republicans Must Begin Thinking about 2020

millennials

Millennials are the largest voting bloc in America, but don’t expect them to vote in large numbers in three weeks. Although Bernie Sanders inspired millions of young men and women to become involved, but they have once again begun to show indifference. Don’t believe that they will be the same in four years.

If Democrats and Republicans fail to look to the future, it is highly possible that in November 2020 a third party candidate could become the President of the United States.

We know that if Donald Trump wins, he will have the most disloyal citizenry in history. Tens of millions, such as myself, would never accept a Trump presidency. Millennials would completely denounce his fascist attitude. He would never receive a second term.

If Hillary wins, she must address the concerns of all, and face the truth; her generation will not be in control of our nation by the time we hold another general election. Millinneals are now America’s largest voting block, and they see our nation differently than the old men and women now in control of our nation’s government.

Millennials are rejecting capitalism. Only 43 percent of younger voters believe that it is working for our nation’s people. Approximately 66 percent of Americans over the age of 65 believe that capitalism works for our nation.

More importantly, nearly one-half of millennials said thy would vote for a socialist candidate, and 21 percent would support a communist. Over 80 percent of baby-boomers believe that communism remains a danger to our nation.

Let’s take a look at the facts. Two voting blocs can win an election in our nation for a single candidate; millennials and women. We know that millennials tend to be less racist, and homophobic. Women are taking control of our nation’s future. Women in their early 30’s are returning to their parent’s home to complete their education. Many are rejecting marriage and family; at least until their careers are established. Women outnumber men in college enrollment for the first time in history. Exit polls in 2012 revealed that 53 percent of all votes were cast by women. If one candidate appeals to both women and millennials, they cannot lose.

In 2020 Trump will be 74 years old; Hillary 72. Will younger Americans support a presidential candidate who is out of touch with them? Will they accept a president who is well past retirement age?

One other fact which should frighten older Americans; in a survey, 32 percent of millennials believe that George W. Bush is responsible for more deaths than Joseph Stalin. Tens of thousands of Iraqis, who were non-military men, women, and children were killed during the invasion of Iraq and during the prolonged war. Destabilization of the region continues to be the cause for deaths of thousands more innocents.

America is changing. Trump would take our nation into its sordid past. Hillary will move our nation forward; but will it be far enough?

Please re-post this; it’s your future. Thank you.
