I have claimed that the polls have been erroneous for months. It was impossible for me to believe that intelligent Americans who cared for the future of their country could possibly support someone as vile and unqualified as Donald Trump. Last night’s “debate” offered multiple reasons why Hillary is now experiencing a comfortable lead, but I continue to believe that it is much larger than shown by the polls.
Three “debates” have only proveen one thing; neither Trump nor Hillary could win a debate when one of the candidates refuses to answer a direct question. In all three fiascoes, one candidate lost each debate. Trump failed to satisfy any voter with average intelligence. Only voters who share Trump’s beliefs; white supremacy, bigotry, misogyny, and Islamophobia; could continue to support the “orange man.” They harbor hatred incurred by their leader, and that’s not my America.
Let’s discuss the polls, and why they are likely highly inaccurate.
Before what I call ‘the age of electronics,’ everyone had land-based phones. Polls were conducted by phoning these ‘house phones,’ and without caller ID, these calls were usually answered. That’s not true today. I do not have a ‘land-based’ phone. If I don’t recognize the number on caller ID, I ignore the call. Millions of others do the same, and therefore do not participate in the polls.
Polls today are generally taken from sample groups which share a bias towards one of the candidates. The facts are there; almost every demographic supports Hillary. Only white men and women of a certain age and income support Trump. If the polls were unbiased, every poll would reveal the fact that Hillary has a large lead over her unqualified rival. But that’s not the end of the story. There are other groups; groups who are silent now, but will not be on November 8th.
First of all, there is a huge difference between Clinton supporters and Trump supporters.
Trump supporters are raucous, angry, loud, and sometimes violent. Hillary’s supporters are fierce, but choose not to be demonstrative. This ‘silent majority’ includes many women who are single mothers. Women are held to a higher standard than men by the media. As Rebecca Traister wrote after the Iowacaucus, “No one likes a woman who yells loudly about revolution.”
Women are the second largest voting bloc in America. Single women, who were at the least lackadaisical before President Obama declared his candidacy, are now a force in the voting booth.
The largest voting bloc is millennials. They seldom talk about candidates, they are interested in the issues. The same is true for Hispanics and blacks. Issues matter, and Trump has no solid solutions for the problems of the majority.
Donald Trump directed a comment to black voters in one of his rallies. He said that they should vote for him; “what have you got to lose.” The answer is “one helluva lot.” Trump would repeal the Affordable Care Act. Nearly one-third of the black population now has health insurance which was previously unavailable. Republicans continue in their attempts to pass legislation which would adversely affect blacks and other minorities; both statewide and nationally. The minimum wage would remain stagnant, and the poverty level would grow. There would be no judicial reform, and blacks would continue to receive harsher treatment from law enforcement. The court system would continue to punish low-income and those who are impoverished more severely than whites and the wealthy.
I predict that exit polls will reveal that Hillary has won by a landslide. If the current estimates are correct, more than 30 million Americans have already taken advantage of ‘early voting.’ In my state, this begins on Saturday, and my wife will be there early. A large turnout generally indicates a victory for Democrats.
Help me spread the truth, and please re-post. Thank you.
