For me, there was only one good thing about Donald Trump winning the Republican Party’s presidential nomination; I wouldn’t have to hear Ted Cruz’ moronic ideas and un-American speech any longer. I join most of the other 534 people in Washington who label him the most hated man in our nation’s capital. He is a member of the extremist TEA Party, and was guilty for many of the problems our nation’s people have been inflicted with during the last four years. He is our country’s greatest obstructionist.
It was obvious from his first day in the Senate that he had a singular goal; to become the President of the United States. He is a danger to all men and women who believe in democracy.
He battled with Trump for months. The contest between the two became an example of what politics in America should not be. They viciously attacked each other. Trump won the battle of evil when he accused Cruz’ father of being involved in the assassination of JFK, and criticized Heidi, Cruz’ wife, for her physical appearance.
But guess what; I know you won’t believe it, but he now supports the man he hates. Cruz capitulated for fear that he would lose support from Repulican leadership in 2020.
Cruz is desperate to return to the public eye. His latest effort is to attack San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick. You probably know that Kaepernick has been kneeling during the playing of our national anthem, protesting against racism in the United States.
Before I complete this, Cruz’ resume reveals that he was a Constitutional Law professor. I’m beginning to doubt that fact. Although I don’t believe that we are a great nation, there are great things about our country. One of the most valued is free speech; the right to protest, and the right to express our feelings about socio-economic issues.
.@TedCruz on Colin Kaepernick: “I think that rich spoiled athlete ought to give all his money to take care of fallen police officers.” In another tweet, he claimed that the young athlete ‘did not understand the national anthem.’
I must admit that I agree with him; most Americans do not understand how this particular song came to represent our nation. It is a tribute to war, and says nothing about the principles upon which our nation was founded. When I was a very young man, and first heard “America the Beautiful,” I asked why that was not our national anthem. No one could answer me.
Cruz is consistent about one thing; he is always wrong. He places his Christian religion before his country, but accepts a position in our government, which is forbidden to adopt a single religious belief. He has made numerous attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but has no plan to replace a law which has positively affected the lives of 20 million Americans. He attempted to once again shut down the government if the funding for Planned Parenthood was not revoked. He actually once believed that President Obama had a plan to invade his home state of Texas. Really?
Sadly, Cruz does not have the common sense to simply fade away. Nobody wants to hear what he has to say, and his cowardice and hypocrisy have ended his political career; at least I hope so.
Please re-post; and thank you for reading my rants. If nothing else, they are cathartic.
