Trump’s campaign appears to be imploding. His political director, Jim Murphy, has “stepped away” from the campaign. There has not been an explanation. Today Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s unqualified campaign manager, and resident spin doctor, revealed that she is not being paid to lie for her boss.
Conway re-tweeted a message which reveals her relationship with Trump, and his frequent decision not to pay contractors whose work he deemed unacceptable. The tweet referred to a previous tweet from Trump which was exposed by Tamara Mae. He was obviously claiming that he once again took advantage of a woman; but this time it was not in a sexual manner.
Campaign insiders revealed that Trump was upset after Conway sent a tweet exposing the fact that at the third and final debate, Trump referred to some Hispanics as “bad hombres.” She was angry that Trump used a phrase unapproved by her.
So, what does this mean? Maybe nothing. However, it is possible that the only two top staff members remaining are his CEO, Steve Bannon, and deputy campaign manager, David Bossie. Neither of these men are politicians, and their function is unknown. Bossie is a conspiracy theorist, and that is all we know about him. Bannon is the former “honcho” at Breitbart, and an avowed white supremacist as a member of “Alt-Right.”
Is Trump waving the white flag? Is he “pulling a Sarah Palin” and quitting. We only know that he has been sabotaging his own campaign with increasingly embarrassing and fallacious remarks.
As for now, the political world is waiting for a response from Conway. Although she had never run a political campaign at any level, we soon discovered that she was hired for two reasons; to ‘keep Trump from being Trump,’ and to spin his vile rhetoric. She was forced to consistently explain his obvious lies, and attempt to make him appear more presidential.
While Trump is apparently struggling to hold his campaign together, Hillary Clinton’s staff is now campaigning in “red states” which have a possibility of turning “blue.” Her team is now working feverishly in Arizona and Utah.
Early voting has begun, and more than 4,000,000 Americans have cast their ballots. Based on party registration, and other information, it appears that Hillary Clinton is already leading handily.
The New York Daily News will release a large condemnation of Donald Trump and a detailed explanation of why Hillary will make a great president on Monday. Across the country, support is growing for Hillary and diminishing for Trump.
Many words have been used to describe the 2016 election. Since it began in March of 2015, until today, the media has described it as ‘the longest’ in our nation’s history. It has been called ‘historic,’ but that history is not of the type which creates national pride. It has also been called ‘nasty,’ ‘mean-spirited,’ ‘disgusting,’ and ’embarrassing,’ among other unpleasant words.
Fortunately, the end is near. Today, early voting begins in my state, and my wife and I will be there. All any of us can do at this point is to hope that the voting public aligns with us, and the candidates we support win, and the issues important to our state’s future pass.
Thanks to Citizens United, millions of dollars have been spent by the Koch brothers and others to ensure that the candidates who will serve them in Washington are elected. In our state, the NRA is spending millions in support of one senatorial candidate, and in an effort to defeat a law requiring background checks for gun purchases from gun shows, and when purchased online. Only four well-known officials stand against the measure, and they all receive campaign contributions from the gun lobby.
This is the most important election in modern history. Please re-post, and keep our people informed. Thank you.
