Republican Senator from Iowa, Joni Ernst, is supporting Donald Trump, or is she? She made a statement in which she offers conflicting views. She has learned to become a typical politician in a few short years.
“I do not condone the way he speaks on many different levels… I don’t support that aspect. The way I’m explaining it is I’m not fighting for Donald Trump but I am fighting for my county, so I will continue to support the Republican ticket,” Sen. Ernst said.
Let’s break this down; I have several serious questions for Ernst; questions I’m sure she would refuse to answer. If she votes for Donald Trump, isn’t she supporting his platform; his beliefs? Maybe she doesn’t understand that he would be the President of the United States, and would likely have control of one house of congress.
By supporting Trump, Ernst is supporting white supremacy, bigotry, Islamophobia, homophobia, and misogyny. She is condoning sexual assault. The latter is not a surprise; Ernst has voted against every bill in Washington which would have positively affected women. She is anti-abortion, under all circumstances. Ernst opposes an increase in the federal minimum wage which would aid single mothers, and help to lower the poverty rate.
Ms. Ernst; let me address you directly. Maybe you are confused about what voting for Trump truly means. Do you support racism, sexual abuse, and hatred? If your answer is ‘no,’ you are a hypocrite. Voting for Trump is a statement; you support his vile beliefs, and that’s unforgivable.
Your state is known for its evangelical base. Anyone who believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ cannot support a despicable man such as Donald Trump. He opposes every commandment offered by the individual you believe is the Son of God. Mormons in Utah have denounced Trump; what position will evangelicals in Iowa adopt?
There are two groups I cannot respect; liars and hypocrites. Ms. Ernst, it appears that you are both. Iowa voters will remember you when reelection becomes your ambition. Your support of Donald Trump will not be ignored. You can make all the misleading statements you choose, but the truth is that if you support the Republican Party, you are supporting its standard bearer. You can’t have it both ways.
Please re-post; the American people must learn the truth about hypocrites such as Ernst. Thank you, and please vote; it’s the only weapon most Americans possess in the constant fight against our corrupt government.
