There is no question that the Russians continue their efforts to interfere in our presidential election. In consort with WikiLeaks, alleged e-mails received by John Podesta have been released which contain unverified information about the Clinton campaign, and the Clinton Foundation. Why isn’t the media talking about Donald Trump’s fake foundation, and his illegal use of its funds? Once again, Hillary is being held to a higher standard than her Republican rival.
What I question most, is why aren’t Trump’s alleged actions involving sexual misconduct receiving more attention? Why does the media continue to give Trump a free pass?
Trump’s staff and supporters continue to defend him. Trump claims that he will sue all of his accusers after the election. All of this is nothing more than an effort to cover up Trump’s history as a sexual predator, and save his candidacy.
A fourth video has been released which was recorded during the “Celebrity Apprentice.” Trump is shown saying “I just raped a woman.” True or not, does this sound like a man who is qualified to lead the free world?
Campaign manager Kellyanne Conway defended him to Jake Tapper on CNN.
“These comments are of little consequence because Donald Trump never entered the presidential race.”
Later, she continued, “These statements, while reprehensible, do not prove a crime. And while someone who makes statements like this obviously doesn’t have the temperament to be president, Donald Trump in fact has never held or attempted to hold public office.”
The spin doctor at work again. According to Conway, these words and alleged actions by the “orange man” are acceptable because he was not a presidential contender at the time. Really?
Why haven’t we heard about this on the mainstream media? Why are they protecting Donald Trump? Does the Republican Party own the other major networks as well as cable’s FOX Noise?
Other Trump supporters also attempted to belie the truth, but former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was the most appalling. In an interview with Wolf Blitzer, he too used the “he was not a candidate” defense.
“Corey, that’s simply not true,” Blitzer said.
“Wolf, this is all just a conspiracy put about by the liberal media machine,” Lewandowski responded, “in order to slander the Republican party and Mr. Trump’s business ventures, which have in fact been his sole focus over the last 16 months.”
After Blitzer asked, “How could anyone with half a brain believe that stupid story?” Lewandowski responded by forcibly grabbing Blitzer by the back of his collar before frog-marching him off-screen.
Okay, I know I’m sick and tires of this campaign season, but, ‘what the hell is going on?’ How can such a deplorable human being receive the nomination of one of our major parties? Has America devolved enough that we can even consider a racist, bigot, and sexual predator for the highest office in our land? I am ashamed to be called an American if that’s the truth.
