If you have been led to believe that Republicans care about America or our nation’s people, you are badly informed. Members of the once Grand Old Party are only concerned with their party and elections.

Let’s be truthful here; any one who supports Donald Trump, or chooses to vote for him, embraces his despicable beliefs and twisted vision of America. You can’t have it both ways, but some Republican politicians believe that I am mistaken.

Let’s take the case of Jason Chaffetz. This is what he said 19 days ago.

“I’m out. I can no longer in good conscience endorse this person for president,” Chaffetz said the day after The Washington Post revealed Trump’s 2005 “Access Hollywood” tape. The breaking point, Chaffetz went onto say, was that he couldn’t look his 15-year-old daughter in the eye and talk about what the GOP presidential nominee said: “It is some of the most abhorrent and offensive comments that you can possibly imagine.”

As of today, he flipflopped once more. This is what he said in a tweet. Notice the fallacious justification he uses for his pivot.

“I will not defend or endorse @realDonaldTrump, but I am voting for him. HRC is that bad. HRC is bad for the USA.”

Chaffetz is fully aware that Hillary has faithfully served our nation for her entire adult life, and is the most qualified candidate in our nation’s history. He knows that Trump is a danger to our nation and the world, a sexual predator, a racist, and is totally unqualified, and will still vote for him. Really? This is the ultimate example of hypocrisy.

Chaffetz is a Republican, (no surprise there), and a Representative from Utah. He is the Chairman of the highly politically motivated House Oversight Committee. He is ‘sitting on the fence’ for fear of damaging his ambitions for the future.

Chaffetz was planning to place himself in contention for the position of the Speaker when John Boehner resigned. However, when Paul Ryan’s name was entered, he tactfully removed his name from consideration.

There is little doubt that his ultimate goal is the presidency. He is following other unqualified and unprincipled Republicans such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. His constant waste of time and money holding numerous “investigations” is just that. He joins other extremists who refuse to perform the job for which they were elected. His only “job” is playing politics.

This is what America gets when it elects a Republican. The GOP is no longer the party of Lincoln, or even the party of Reagan. It has moved so far to the right that Democrats now appear to be the Republicans of 30 years ago.

Words are cheap, and words have no meaning when action fails to follow. Chaffetz is bad for America, and make no mistake about it; he endorses Trump.
