Donald Trump is not a ‘team player.’ He has refused to attend Republican funding events which would aid ‘down-ballot’ candidates. This is extremely dangerous for Republicans. The Senate appears to be moving towards a Democratic victory, and, although it does not appear that there will be a takeover in the House, Democrats are expected to win additional seats.
In addition, Trump is no longer using personal funds to pay for his campaign. With just 11 days remaining, this is a questionable choice by the party’s standard bearer.
Is this a sign of surrender? Is Trump too exhausted to work hard for his party. Or is he continuing to be Donald Trump and has no concern for anyone else? No matter what the reason, this is another example of the fact that Trump would not work for the American people. His “what’s in it for me” attitude is a danger to our nation’s future.
The RNC has decided to spend more money on the Senate and House races, and offer little to Trump’s failing campaign. Hillary Clinton has far more available funds to spend during this last week-and-a-half.
According to recent polls, Hillary leads nationally by more than five points. They are in a virtual tie in Florida. Trump is holding on to a one point lead in Ohio. Some surprising numbers are the polls in Arizona and North Carolina. Both are traditionally red states. Hillary is leading in Arizona by 1.5 percent, and in North Carolina by three points.
Although polls are extremely conflicting in the closing days of a general election, if these figures are close to accurate, the contest is virtually over.
This is the most unusual campaign in history. I continue to believe that in the early days of his campaign, Trump was not entirely serious about winning the presidency. He was seeking public attention. As his numbers rose, so did his ego. Today, he once again appears to be less concerned about winning than looking forward to the end of his ordeal.
The result of the election will devastate the Republican Party. It is fractured today, but by late November three separate factions will be fighting for control. The problem for life-long Republicans is that they have no leadership. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has proven himself completely incapable of performing his job. Paul Ryan has proven himself weak and unable to lead. Mitch McConnell has been worthless as the Senate Majority Leader. Who will GOP politicians turn to as the savior of their party? Lost are Trump supporters who will refuse to support any other Republican. Anti-Trump forces will declare a victory, but will have lost millions of Republican voters. The TEA Party extremists will look to the Koch brothers for direction.
The creation of “Trumpenstein” by Republican leadership has proven to be a greater disaster than once anticipated.
Please vote, and know that a vote for Hillary is a vote for yourself and your family. If you agree, please re-post. Thank you.
