More than any other Democratic politician, Republicans have feared Hillary Clinton the most. Hillary bashing began during her husband’s bid for a second term in 1996. It all originated with the supporters of conservative extremist Pat Buchanan.
They spread rumors that she, alone, was supporting a feminist agenda; that she had Vince Foster killed and was responsible for multiple murders; and finally, she belonged to a satanic cult. These were the beginnings of 20 years of attacking the singular woman in the Democratic Party who was an obvious threat to unscrupulous Republicans.
Hillary Clinton and President Obama share consistent attacks from the right wing; they do nothing right, and everything which occurs negatively in our nation and the world is their fault. Republican politicians have completely denied the failed presidency of George W. Bush, offering the false claim that Mr. Obama was an ineffective president. Remember, my fellow Americans, the Bush Administration began with a surplus of funds, and left leaving our nation in trillions of dollars of debt, and remaining in two unwinnable wars. Barrack Obama rescued our country, and Hillary will continue and improve his policies. Experts in our nation’s economy state that Trump’s plan would add trillions of dollars to the debt and would be a gift to the one-percent, while harming the working class. His weak temperament presents a serious possibility of engaging our nation in another unwinnable war.
The truth is that Hillary Clinton is extremely intelligent, and an excellent politician. She understands what works and does not work in Washington, and not a single Republican shares her knowledge and experience. Her only problem is that she is a woman, and she is held to a higher standard than her male counterparts. If she displays emotion of any type, she is attacked. Make no mistake, Hillary Clinton is a worthy adversary for any man who holds a seat in the House or Senate.
The facts remain, no matter how hard Republicans try to discredit her, with the aid of the media, Hillary Clinton will not only be our first woman president, she will be a great president. The mistakes she made were in the service of our nation’s people, and no one in Washington can match her accomplishments.
Only poorly informed Americans believe the extensive Hillary bashing by her opponents and the media. I support her because she is the best candidate, and I believe she will positively affect the lives of the majority. Unlike Republicans in congress, she will work across the aisle and return democracy to our nation’s government.
It’s easy to attack anyone, but when congress is forced to work with a strong woman, these old, white men will become engaged in a battle much more difficult than they have previously experienced.
