The longest election season in American history ends today. I have mixed emotions. I began writing about the 2016 election in March of 2015 when Ted Cruz declared his candidacy. I reject hate offered by mean-spirited and ambitious men who have nothing to offer the American people. No longer must I write about the evil in America. Hopefully I can return to discussing policy, and continue to criticize our do-nothing congress.
One thing continues to bother me. The media, and the late-night comics have continued their claim that both candidates are unqualified. This is a lie and sadly might give the presidency to a totally unqualified and immoral man.
It is the media, in support of the Republican Party, which influenced millions of uninformed Americans to believe that Hillary Clinton is not trustworthy. Four failed investigations about the tragedy in Benghazi and continual scrutiny of the use of a personal e-mail are frivolous compared to the crimes committed by Donald Trump. The truth is that Benghazi proved nothing, and the use of a private server was an honest mistake, admitted by Mrs. Clinton.
I was proud to cast my ballot for the most qualified and principled candidate in history. I hope that my vote helped elect the first woman president, and the only candidate who can be a great president as she represents all Americans.
It is often said that the electorate votes for the ‘lesser of two evils,’ or they vote against one of the candidates. I do not vote that way. As an Independent, I vote for the best candidate available. This year there is no doubt that Hillary is the best candidate, and will be a strong voice for the majority.
If at the end of this day, America is wise enough to deny a megalomaniac his personal ambitions, We will be celebrating a victory for the working class, minorities, women, the LGBT community, and all men and women who practice the religion of their choice.
I urge you all, for the last time, please vote, and vote for yourselves and your family. Vote for the woman who will be a strong and vital president. The only person who understands international relations, and will address our domestic problems is Hillary Clinton. She will continue to repair what a Republican presidency nearly destroyed. She will move us forward, and defend all of the Constitution.
Thank you all for reading my rants for the last almost 20 months. I believe in the truth, and I believe the American people have a right to know that truth. Please re-post, and help this voter turnout be record-breaking. Once again, I offer my sincere appreciation.
