227 million; that’s the number of eligible voters on November 8th, 2016. 42 percent; that’s the number of eligible voters who failed their nation and refused to go to the polls. 95.2 million; the number of Americans who chose not to vote. 20; the number of years since America experienced such a low turnout.
Do these figures represent voter apathy, the belief that Hillary would crush Trump, or the efforts of the media, Vladimir Putin, and James Comey to discredit Hillary?
The 1996 election was a contest between the sitting president, Bill Clinton, and Challenger Bob Dole. The polls revealed a huge edge for Clinton, and it was commonly believed that they were accurate. Clinton received 379 electoral votes to Dole’s 159.
So if you have complaints about actions taken by Trump which adversely affect you and your family, and you failed to vote, I suggest that you keep your comments to yourself; you won’t receive sympathy from me.
True patriotism is lacking in America. If you did not vote, you failed your nation and the founding fathers who fought for your right to elect your president. With the many ways offered to cast your ballots today, there is no legitimate excuse.
At my age, and being a white male, little of the evil which Trump will impose upon our nation will affect me. But I voted to protect many of you who will be greatly harmed by a Trump presidency, and some of you stayed home. Any woman who failed to vote for Hillary, and against a sexual predator is a traitor to her sex, and has no concern for the type of nation their daughters will be forced to endure. Rich, young men will believe that they have a right to do anything they wish to a woman. Sexual assault and domestic violence will be accepted as the norm.
The America people have a single weapon against a corrupt government; their vote. When they fail to use it, they have become complacent, and obviously accept whatever illegal and immoral actions those in Washington might force upon the people.
Our nation is now stuck with the worst president in history until he is impeached or voted out of office.
I thank 95.2 million people for creating a danger to our nation and the world.
