Misogynists such as Ted Cruz, Steve King, Joe Heck, and other Republicans, have been attempting to defund one of the most beneficial agencies ever established for impoverished and low-income women. They even threatened to shut down the government if these bullies didn’t get their way.

One-hundred years ago the first Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), or simply Planned Parenthood agency opened its first birth control office in Brooklyn, New York. Today is is composed of 159 medical and non-medical affiliates, which operate more than 650 health clinics in the United States, with partnerships in 12 other countries. In their 2014 Annual Report, PPFA reported seeing over 2.5 million patients in over 4 million clinical visits and performing a total of nearly 9.5million discrete services including 324,000 abortions.

Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization. Since 1976 no federal funds, which compose slightly less than one-half of its national funding, have been used for abortions.

This has not stopped Republican puppets of the Christian religious right from attempting to destroy the organization. In violation of the first amendment, these anti-women Republican legislators have attempted to harm and deny the rights of women in the United States. The Republican ‘war on women’ has become more vicious and more intent upon controlling the physical health of the American woman.

Now that the right wing controls all three branches of government, it is highly likely that congress will defund Planned Parenthood, and that Trump will sign the bill. He has already stated that punishment must be exercised for women and doctors for the legal process of abortion. Once again; welcome to the 1950’s.

I try not to be angry; it’s not my nature. But Trump supporters have unleashed a measure of evil upon our nation which cannot be accurately estimated. The party of destruction now has unimaginable power in Washington, and their ideas do not favor the majority. They will likely repeal the 1^st, 4^th, and 14^th amendments to the Constitution.

With a president who is immoral, and a supporter of white supremacists, the majority of Americans will experience a fascist regime as democracy is erased from our nation.

These are not scare tactics; these are facts. If we had not had President Obama for the last eight years, our nation would already have devolved into a third world nation.

So, a final thank you to the ignorant men and women who supported a man who hates the America which raised me.
