Trump Encouraged Racism and Now Cannot Stop Its Growth

The KKK and all other white supremacist groups, including Alt-Right, are celebrating their victory last Tuesday. Trump built his campaign based on racism. The day after he won the Electoral College, the number of incidents involving hate crimes and racism began to rise.

At least three organizations have documented the rise in graffiti, slurs and threats directed at minority groups over the past week. At a California Veterans Day parade, people showed up with three Confederate flags. Muslim Americans have received death threats and black freshmen at the University of Pennsylvania were the target of slurs and a ‘daily lynching calendar.’”

During Trump’s campaign, teachers across the nation reported increased bullying in our schools. Parent’s were constantly forced to explain Trump’s words and anger to their children. Families were separated based upon which candidate they supported.

On “60 Minutes,” Trump told his supporters to ‘stop the racism.’ Trump started it, but he can’t stop it.

The truth is that he continues to encourage these heinous acts. By choosing Steve Bannon as his chief adviser, he has proven that he, himself, is a white supremacist.

So here we are; the first reported results of a Trump presidency. There’s much more to come, and some will be from his own supporters.

For example; when the voters of Indiana find out that their Carrier Air Conditioning plant will be moved, although he promised to stop its outsourcing, will they be pleased? I think not. Trump’s own party supports outsourcing, and he cannot do anything about the situation.

When millions of his supporters are left without healthcare, will they still support him? He claims that he will replace Obamacare. Republicans in the House will gleefully repeal it, but will not support a new program, especially if it contained insuring those with preexisting conditions, and dependents living at home until age 26.

The basis of Trump’s campaign was to deport nearly 12 million undocumented workers, and build a wall between Mexico and the United States. What will they do when neither happens?

Trump can do nothing because he knows nothing. He is a disaster elected by foolish men and women who are filled with hate.

Trump’s victory is proof of increasing racism within the United States. The protests occurring today will only grow in number. I can only hope that they are peaceful, but the manner in which Trump encouraged violence at his rallies gives me reason to doubt that they will be.
