Someone Must Tell Giuliani: There’s no Cure for Stupid

Giulaini

I believe the only person I am more tired of listening to than Trump is Rudy Giuliani. He continues to embarrass himself. It began with the convention when his angry tirades had members of his own party shaking their heads. He is so far to the right he is always wrong. Like Trump and other members of his inner circle, Giuliani believes that he can hide his own criminal activities while “playing President and cabinet.”

A story in today’s Washington Post has exposed a situation which may prevent Giuliani from becoming either Secretary of State, or the Attorney General; both of which must be confirmed by the Senate.

For years, Giuliani has been an advocate for the “Mujahideen-e Khalq (MEK), a Marxist Iranian opposition group that claims to be the legitimate government of Iran and resembles a cult.An investigation by the Treasury Department in 2012 sought information regarding speaking fees paid by the MEK to several American officials including Giuliani. It is illegal to take money from an organization which has been labeled ‘terrorist.’

Giuliani is best known for his support of white supremacy. It was his administration which enforced the “stand and frisk” laws in New York City, a procedure which was designated as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. Attorney General???

Did Giuliani believe that he could hide this from the people of the United States. Will the media ignore this revelation in the same manner they ignored Trump’s criminal activities, including bribing public officials, breaking immigration laws, and stealing from his own charitable foundation? Probably. They all support Trump and his extremist right wing cronies.

Our government has become a soap opera, but they are mistaken if they believe that the majority of the American people will accept a Trump presidency. They live in a different world, and the evil which is Trump will have little effect on them. They don’t fight wars; they profit from them. They don’t have to worry about losing their healthcare; they have the best medical service taxpayer money can buy. None of them will ever admit to not being Christian and experience hatred and bigotry; elections are not won in this country by members of other faiths, with a rare exception. They’re not concerned with women’s rights; all congressmen receive the same base pay. They have no interest in the lives of nearly 12 million undocumented workers. If they did, immigration reform would have happened years ago. They are not worried that Mike Pence may seek a ban on same-sex marriage; it would not affect them. Politicians do not live in our world. If they choose to accept Trump as their president, they will be standing alone, and I will not stand beside them in the next election.
