How the Election of Trump has Changed my Personal Life

republicans

For 18 months I have denounced Trump. The more I learned about him and who he really was, the more I was convinced that he was not only unfit to be our president, he does not qualify to be an American. His hatred alone disqualifies him to be the leader of our nation and the free world.

One week after the election which destroyed my nation, I have learned even more. He has purged his enemies, and the enemies of his family in a vile and vindictive fashion. He has surrounded himself with the the most disreputable people in our country, and will destroy what remained of our democracy. To put in in a singular statement; he is worse than I imagined.

For 18 months the media aimed its vile rhetoric at Hillary Clinton, while giving Trump a free pass. They forced the American people to believe that she was not trustworthy, and that she should not be our president. Meanwhile, they ignored Trump’s criminality, his belief in white supremacy, and the fact that he was the political equivalent of Bill Cosby; a sexual predator. Towards the end of the election, our government not only allowed Vladimir Putin to intervene, the FBI insured that Hillary would not achieve the goal she rightfully deserved.

I will never accept Trump as my president; I choose to join the revolution. This debacle has resulted in my choice to alter my daily life.

Let me be clear about my decisions. They are not intended to represent “after the fact” concerns. I have been denouncing Trump’s lack of morality and his inability to become our president during the longest campaign season in our nation’s history. I have railed against the mainstream media for years. They either lie to the American people or offer half-truths, and fail to offer both sides of the story. They deserve my personal condemnation and my right to expose them for what they are not; the once respected fourth estate. For those of you who are too young to understand that term, our news services were once considered the fourth branch of government; the one which always offered the truth.

As of last Wednesday morning, November 9th, my daily routine changed dramatically. I used to begin my day with the news from a local television network. It is not a very credible broadcast, but the weather was accurate. At 7a.m. I turned on CBS This Morning. Being a political ‘junkie,’ I always respected Charlie Rose. Nora O’Donnell had been a reputable journalist on NBC and her courage and intellect continued to impress me. Gail King reminded me of the “color commentator” on an NFL Game. I now watch cable in the mornings, or ‘Netflix.’ I will never watch their failed broadcast again.

For most of my adult life, more than 50 years, I loved certain news broadcasts which informed and entertained me. My favorite has been “60 Minutes” for decades. However, I will never watch it again.

For 18 months these shows supported Donald Trump. They offered him free campaign advertising while continually joining with the Republican Party in its attempts to discredit Hillary. It was so obvious, it disgusted me. When Trump or his campaign staff appeared on their broadcasts, they allowed them to refuse to answer questions, most of which were “soft-balled.”

I call on all true patriots who believe that a revolution is not only needed, but inevitable, to also boycott these television broadcasts who lied to the American people.

I will continue to find the truth from international publications who are not constrained by our corrupt government.

Join the millions of us who want to take our country back from self-serving politicians and the super-rich.
