Trump promised his supporters that he would “drain the swamp in Washington.” It appears that he has created a larger cesspool. His inner circle is composed of the worst of America; extremists who support white supremacy, homophobia, misogyny, xenophobia, and hatred.

Let’s begin with some facts; (For Donald Trump, I will explain that this also means the truth). The swamp dwellers remain, and are pleased with Trump’s election. Steve King, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, and others will remain in Washington. One of the longest lasting swamp creatures, Reince Priebus, is now Trump’s chief of staff.

Now for the cesspool. Steve Bannon is Trump’s chief strategist. An avowed white supremacist, anti-Semitic, homophobe, and xenophobe will now control presidential policy. Confirmed racist Jeff Sessions will likely be the Attorney General. Chief moron and angry old man Rudy Giuliani is being considered for Secretary of State. Former General Michael Flynn will be Trump’s National Security Adviser; in 2014 he was fired from the DIA for his unwarranted accusations against Hillary Clinton, and a bromance with Trump. Although most cabinet posts have not been chosen, those under consideration include traitor Tom Cotton, Wall Street insider Steven Mnuchin, big oil supporter Mary Fallin, racist and adamant homophobic Sam Brownback, religious fanatic Mike Huckabee, former Texas Governor Rick Perry, and other degenerate politicians.

I have read an increasing number of comments that the after affects of the election for millions of Americans are similar to the feelings they endured after the attacks on September 11, 2001. Personally, my wife and I were in a ‘daze’ all day on November 9^th; it was like we had nightmares all night long, and woke up to the reality of our greatest fears. One day our nation remained a democracy, and the Constitution was our most sacred document. The next day a fascist regime had been given control of our nation, and the Constitution was taken to a shredding machine.

Not only did Trump break another promise to his supporters, he added more raw sewage to the swamp. The American people should have expected this to happen when he chose Mike Pence as his running mate. Pence is a religious extremist, and uses his imagined faith to denounce all members of the LGBT community. He was the first governor to institute anti-gay laws in Indiana, aimed directly at same-sex marriage.

Welcome to the new nation, created by an ignorant and prejudiced number of voters. They gave us Trump, and the only good news is that most of them will suffer as well from choosing the worst candidate in history to lead our nation into a dictatorship.
