Why Trump is not Allowed to be My President

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 7th, 1776. Our founding fathers refused to accept religious domination and left England in pursuit of freedom from persecution.

Before this formal announcement of independence by the colonies in America, a war between the monarchy of England and the new world began. The war lasted for eight years between 1775 and 1783. In 1789 the Constitution was signed and the first ten amendments, known as the “Bill of Rights” established our freedoms. The first became the cornerstone of the new nation.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

This most esteemed provision is under attack today by the Trump transition team. His selection of appointees rejects this most treasured amendment of our founding fathers. His team would destroy individual freedom of speech, and the right to practice religion of choice. The Republican Party seeks the establishment of Christianity as our national religion in direct violation to the first amendment.

Trump also ignores the fact that the television media gave him a free pass during the election season and held Hillary Clinton to an unreasonable standard. The New York Times, and other respected publications denounced Trump, and he is seeking revenge in an attempt to usurp their Constitutional rights. Not a single respected print publication supported Trump in 2016.

I join the tens of millions of Americans who will never accept the legitimacy of a Trump presidency. Only a true American can be the President of the United States. His belief in white supremacy, xenophobia, sexism, and homophobia refuse him the right to claim the title of President of the United States.

I am a true patriot who has witnessed many changes in my nation during seven decades of life. Trump is the only man I have ever witnessed who was totally unqualified to be my president, and the only elected official who is not dedicated to the future of the American people. He is a traitor to every belief instilled during my lifetime.

Trump’s supporters are either white supremacists or ignorant regarding the true ambitions of Trump. He is the only man in our nation’s history who is more anti-American than Dick Cheney; and that is truly unbelievable.
