Throughout the extremely long campaign season, Trump complained about what he called the ‘swamp’ in Washington. He was criticizing ineffective men and women in the White House, and congress. He promised to keep big money from controlling the government and put into place a team which would put government back to work. More lies.
First of all, let’s tell the truth. The entire Republican Party has proven that they are hypocrites and have no interest in representing the people of the United States. Big business now owns all three branches of government, and the working class will suffer greatly. They can rename themselves for what they are now; the Fascist Party of America; Trump’s choices for his inner circle are not Americans and denounce democracy.
Now let’s take a look at the cesspool Trump is creating; so far. I won’t give them to you in order of how despicable they are; I can only describe them as “worse, and more worse.”
Trump’s first choice was his chief of staff. That position was gifted to Reince Priebus, the former Chairman of the RNC. He failed his party through three elections. Although he originally conspired with FOX Noise to derail Trump’s campaign, when he failed, and Trump received the nomination, he became one of Trump’s biggest supporters. Does the word hypocrite apply?
His next appointment was that of chief adviser; Steve Bannon. He is the former chief of the extreme right wing blog, ‘Breitbart.’ He was placed on Trump’s campaign staff by billionaire Robert Mercer, although he has no experience in government. He is openly a white supremacist as a member of the group ‘Alt-Right.’ He has approved and written many articles denouncing all minorities, damning the LGBT community, claiming that all Muslims are terrorists, promoting anti-Semitism, and proclaiming that women are unequal to men.
Trump selected former general Michael Flynn as National Security adviser. His list of prejudices and unhinged ideas can be read by googling this demonic individual. His most recent action of idiocy was to claim that Hillary Clinton was operating “a ring of pedophiles.” You just can’t make this s**t up.
Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions has been nominated as Trump’s Attorney General. He’s from Alabama, an is obviously a racist, but he’s worse than that. 30 years ago he was denied a federal judgeship because of his racist actions and beliefs. He is a white supremacist, who has denied the right of Black Lives Matter to protest, and does not believe that blacks are mistreated by law enforcement. His proposal to enact voter ID laws was directly aimed at the black community in an attempt to suppress votes for Democrats.
Mike Pompeo is a member of the House. He has been selected By Trump to head the Central Intelligence Agency. A frequent critic of Hillary Clinton, he believes that the tragedy in Benghazi was her responsibility, although four investigation by Republican led committees found no wrong doing. He advocates increasing domestic surveillance of all American’s use of e-mails and wireless phones. “Heil Trump.”
Nikki Haley is a two-term Governor of the state of South Carolina. She is the only member of Trump’s insiders who I respect. She has been chosen to be US Ambassador to the United Nations. My only problem is that she has absolutely no experience in foreign relations. She will need a great deal of on-the-job training.
Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Education is totally unqualified for such an important position. Betsy DeVos is a billionaire. She never attended public school, but claims to favor charter schools. She and her husband donated millions of dollars to defeat same-sex marriage, and has never served at any level of government. But she did donate to Trump’s campaign.
Donald McGahan will be White House Council. His only government experience is as a contributor on FOX Noise, so we know that he is a right wing extremist. He will have enormous influence on Trump’s choices for the appointment of federal judges, including the nomination of at least one Supreme Court Justice.
Health and Human Services Secretary has been given to Tom Price, a representative from Georgia. He has adamantly opposed universal healthcare, (although he gladly accepts his from taxpayers), and therefore the ACA. He is ‘pro-life,’ denying women their Constitutional rights. He too has professed his belief in the superiority of whites.
Elaine Chao served under the George W. Bush administration, and was part of his failed plans for the nation’s educational system. If you don’t succeed, screw it up again. She will likely be the Transportation Secretary.
Wilbur Ross is a 79-year-old man who has spent his life in the corporate world. Trump has nominated him as the Secretary of Commerce. He has never served in government, but he is another of Trump’s billionaire friends.
Finally there’s Steven Mnuchin. He has been nominated for Treasury Secretary. Another individual who has no experience in government. He is well known for his “Trump-like” business practices. When our country neared a depression in 2008, Mnuchin bought up banks and other smaller lending institutions increasing his Wall Street acquired fortune. Like his new boss, his only god is money.
Is this what Trump calls “draining the swamp?” He has surrounded himself with unqualified millionaires and billionaires who have multiple prejudices, and no ability in government. They are as diverse as Trump’s rallies. His supporters must be aghast if they appraise Trump’s new “cesspool.” He has selected a “circle sinners who will use their positions to advance themselves. With the exception of Nikki Haley, none of them have ever sacrificed anything for all of the American people. Special interests will control Trump’s administration.
God, please save our nation; but I’m certain there isn’t one or Trump would never have been elected.
