In 2015 there were more mass shootings in the United States than days on the calendar. A large majority of the American people have expressed their belief in comprehensive background checks for all gun purchases; banning the sale of assault rifles and high-output magazines; and forbidding gun sales to any suspected terrorists on the “no-fly list.” Under a Trump presidency, and the control of both houses of congress by Republicans, none of that is likely to happen. Violence in America will rise as the right wing bows to the NRA gun lobby.
Once a gun safety organization, this greedy and un-American organization has no concern for the lives of innocent people. It has a single purpose; increase the profits of gun manufacturers and gun sellers.
Wayne LaPierre is the traitorous president of the NRA. With the universal puppet, Donald Trump, as the new face of our nation, he sees an opportunity to create more deaths, and sell more guns.
LaPierre sees this as an opening to defy the wishes of the American people and repeal state and local gun control laws, voted in by the citizens of those states. “Our time is now,” LaPierre said. “This is our historic moment to go on offense.”
The only way that our government will pass legislation favored by the majority is if the American people rise up and remove them from office in any way possible. Congress continues to dismiss the wishes of the American people on issues such as gun control, same-sex marriage, the minimum wage, women’s rights to equality, and the legalization of nearly 12 million undocumented workers.
Our government is supposed to represent us; but they are only interested in lining their own pockets with more money. With Trump as the president, fascism will become a reality. Our future is dark and hopeless, unless we take our nation back from the traitors we have mistakenly elected.
Our nation is controlled by the one-percent, the gun lobby, the Christian religious right, and big oil. The Constitution has been shredded and burned, and with it our democracy. A plutocracy has replaced our democratic republic; capitalism has created a huge separation between the wealthy and the working class. Socialism is the only cure for the evils for greedy and uncaring corporations.
Freedom is not free; it must be taken. Abraham Lincoln and John Adams prophesied our current dilemma.

It’s time; 240 years was a good run, but the dream died on November 8th. Our nation, in the form created by our founding fathers no longer exists.
Only the people have the right to make laws, and our will must defeat the ambitions of 536 men and women in Washington; the House, the Senate, and our new and illegitimate president.
