Democrats Offer America a Future: Republicans Move our Nation Backwards

Anti-Trump

I once hoped that the American people would learn important lessons from the presidency of Barrack Obama. This intelligent and caring man inherited the worst possible situation in modern history. Our nation was nearing a depression. We were engaged in two illegal and immoral wars. The American people found themselves more divided than at any other time in history since the Civil War. There was only one problem; Mr. Obama was black.

Barrack Obama had plans for the American people; all of us, not just one-percent. Universal healthcare, rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, and bringing our soldiers home were among his plans for the future. However, a senator from Kentucky, immediately set the standard for the Obama presidency. Nothing would be done by Republicans; a black president was not acceptable. Then Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell, announced that the only goal of his party was to insure that Mr. Obama would be a one-term president.

For eight years I watched racism grow within our nation. Many have attempted to deny this fact, including our president, who wanted to believe that the American people were better than they actually were. Anyone who denied this fact previously can no longer ignore the truth; a Donald Trump presidency encouraged bigots who were previously hiding in the shadows to come forward. Now that they have a white supremacist as their leader, they can celebrate and be themselves.

As the rest of the developed world moves forward, the United States is moving backwards. Republican presidents move our nation into the past. Their ideas encourage the return of what should be gone and forgotten evils. Minorities, women, and the entire working class experience a diminished quality of life. Our economy suffers under antiquated fiscal policies, and war becomes a goal, not a necessity; “war is good business.”

Our last two Democratic presidents, saved our nation from financial ruin, and reduced unemployment.

When President Bill Clinton took office, after 12 years of Republican rule, unemployment was high, and the deficit even higher. After eight years in office, the unemployment rate was much lower, and “W” received the gift of a surplus instead of a deficit.

When President Obama took the oath of office, he inherited the great recession. Unemployment percentages were on the rise. We remained in two unwinnable wars. As he is about to leave office, the recovery continues, unemployment is under five-percent, and we are no longer at war. There is still much to do, but will Trump follow President Obama’s lead? I doubt it very much.

Facts are facts. The vast majority of the American people fare far better under Democrats than Republicans. All demographics are valued by progressives, while conservatives are only concerned with white America. They denounce the LGBT community, Muslims, all minorities, and believe women should be subservient to men.

So what will a Trump presidency do to the majority? He will move our nation back to the conditions of Germany in the late 1930’s. He is not only a white supremacist, he does not believe in any form of free speech. He believes women should allow men to use them in any manner they please. Minorities should be placed in servitude, and only the wealthy should enjoy an extraordinary quality of life. Naturally freedom of religion will be only a distant memory.

If you want to take your country back and be a part of the revolution, please re-post.
