Trump owns the Republican Party. It is now a group of fascists whose control of both houses and soon the Supreme Court, will become a plutocracy. America truly suffered an untimely death on November 8th, and with Trumpenstein as our nation’s fuhrer, it will never rise from the ashes.
Trump’s appointees and nominees for his cabinet can only be labeled as “deplorable.” He has nominated Jeff Sessions, a known white supremacist as Attorney General. The Senator from Alabama was rejected for a federal judgeship 30 years ago based on his extreme racism.
To head the Environmental Protection Agency, Trump has chosen Oklahoma attorney general, Scott Pruitt. Pruitt’s entire career has included but a single issue; suing the EPA. He is a tool of big oil and gas.
For Treasury Secretary, Trump chose Wall Street mogul Steve Mnuchin. During the great recession, Mnuchin’s bank foreclosed on 37,000 American homes, making him a member of the one-percent.
The Labor Secretary could be Andrew Pudzer. Pudzer owns Carl’s Jr., and Hardees. He is another billionaire who is opposed to any minimum wage, has stated that he would prefer robots to staff his fast food chains, and favors the repeal of the Affordable Care Act.
Wilbur Ross is of course another billionaire. He was the owner of the Sago coal mine where 12 men lost their lives in 2006. He is the nominee for Secretary of Commerce. Trump has promised to increase the production of environmentally dangerous coal.
Betsy DeVos, another billionaire who contributed to Trump’s campaign has been nominated to be the Secretary of Education. This is extremely questionable because she and her children attended private schools, and without any knowledge, she believes that public schools should be privatized.
Ben Carson is Trump’s choice for Housing and Urban Development. As with the others, he has no experience, and in fact opposes Fair Housing Laws.
The Health and Human Services nominee is Representative Tom Price. He has led the House to 54 votes in an attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He wants to privatize Medicare. He once claimed that contraception aids are affordable to all women.
Trump’s apparent nominee for Energy Secretary is former Texas Governor, Rick Perry. Not only has he proven himself incompetent, Perry is literally owned by big oil. In 2012, when Perry campaigned for the presidency, he suggested eliminating the Department of Energy, which he will now head.
Finally there is Trump’s nominee for the all important Secretary of State. His selection is of course a billionaire, and the CEO of Exxon Mobile. Rex Tillerson was awarded Russia’s highest civilian medal by Vladimir Putin, after completing a deal which will net Exxon as much as one-trillion dollars.
Democrats will surely oppose all of these unqualified individuals, but will Republicans have the courage to do the same? I sincerely doubt it. Trump will be allowed to have his way. The hypocrites in the GOP will not refuse him his “basket of deplorables.”
Add to this cesspool, Steve Bannon, who was appointed as Trump’s chief adviser. Bannon is an admitted white supremacist who has also professed his hatred of Jews, the LGBT community, and Muslims. There you have a collection of the worst of America. These are Trump’s Christmas gifts to the American people.
