Long before Trump was gifted the presidency last month, many Americans have been calling for the elimination of the Electoral College. Politicians offer many reasons why they believe it is necessary, but they are nothing but “smoke and mirrors.” The real reason is that it has created “red and blue” states. Republicans are usually guaranteed to win red states, and Democrats blue. Therefore, they only need to spend the majority of their time and money on what are called “swing states.” Swing states are those which are too close to call and either candidate could conceivably win them.
Every vote should count, but the Electoral College eliminates that option.
Let’s take a look at my own state of Nevada. In 2000, I voted for Al Gore. George W. Bush won the state and all five of our electoral votes were given to him. This year Hillary Clinton won Nevada and all six were given to her; Trump supporters had no representation in the final outcome.
The truth is that if the popular vote decided the presidency, the United States would have had a Democratic president since 1992. Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000, and Hillary crushed Trump on November 8th by nearly three million votes.
Hillary is my president. It will soon become a fact that the election was rigged by the mainstream media, Vladimir Putin, and James Comey. Regardless, she received the mandate of the people; and the people are our nation, not a group of men and women who are intended to vote for the candidate who won the majority of the votes in a single state.
Trump continues to gloat. His ego is so large that he decided to take a victory tour, but only to the states where he won their electoral votes. He doesn’t care about our nation or it’s people; his desperate need to receive praise from his supporters is the only item of importance in his agenda.
Make no mistake about it; this is how Putin controls him. Trump is far too ignorant to understand when he is being manipulated. I cannot accept a man with such low moral standards, and such a low level of intelligence as my president.
Two months ago I was looking forward to the most qualified, and first woman president in our history. I expected our nation’s streets to be filled with celebration, not protests. But this is the new America; a war has been declared between our government and the majority of our nation’s people who have a right to be served, not ruled. All branches of our government are now controlled by Republicans, and Republicans have sought dominance to move our nation into a plutocracy for years. Meanwhile, the media refuses to report the truth, and tell us to accept Trump; their words are hollow and even traitorous.
With Trump’s nominations for his cabinet, and the appointment of his advisory staff, billionaires dominate our government. Robert Mercer is Trump’s puppeteer and in control of the decisions made by Trump’s administration.
The second American revolution is in its infancy, and if you refuse to accept Trump as your legitimate president, you have already enlisted.
