For eighteen months before the election, well-informed and intelligent Americans knew that Trump needed to go back to school. His lack of knowledge regarding American history, and the basics of government are appalling. But he has failed to work for a smooth transition of power; he continues to tweet like an ignorant middle school boy or girl.
What he has done is to create the very real possibility of disasters in the months after his inauguration.
Of course he claims that anything positive happening in our nation is because of his election, when in truth he is simply lying to protect his fragile ego.
Sprint announced that it will bring back 5,000 jobs to the United States. “Because of me they are doing 5,000 jobs in this country,” Trump said.
A similar situation occurred in Indiana with the Carrier air conditioning plant.
The truth is that this action by Sprint was planned long ago.
What Trump has done is to virtually destroy our nation’s relations with China; placed both Taiwan and South Korea on high alert; and bowed to his handler, Vladimir Putin.
Trump claims that his first action will be to repeal what has become a very popular law; the Affordable Care Act. There is no plan to replace it, leaving as many as 35 million, or more than ten percent, of Americans without healthcare.
Because of Trump’s encouragement of hatred and violence, more than 1,000 hate crimes have occurred across the nation. Blacks, Hispanics, the LGBT community, Muslims, and women have been assaulted verbally, mentally, and physically.
Instead of celebrating the election of a new president, thousands of protesters have taken to our city streets. Additional protests are planned in Washington during and after the inauguration. All demographics other than Christian white men are extremely nervous. Women are afraid of Trump’s intention to return laws affecting their bodies back to the dark ages when coat hangers were used to give abortions.
The hypocrisy of it all is best represented by Republicans who shouted “never Trump,” and are now shouting “Heil Trump” to their new fuhrer. Evangelists and the Christian religious right have ignored Trump’s immoral acts against women, and the fact that he has frequently stolen from his own charity. They are the biggest hypocrites of all; they are ignoring every command of Jesus Christ for their own financial benefit.
More than 40 days after the election, Trump continues to create doubt and fear daily. He raises more questions every hour as he fails to talk to all of the American people. Rallies do not constitute press conferences, and tweets are not a dialogue between Trump and those he is expected to serve.
Trump supporters call him by a cute adjective; “unconventional.” What he is, is ignorant, and ignorance is frightening.
Trump’s poor decision making has proven that he will be far worse than any of us predicted.
