When the 35 page dossier appeared detailing alleged lewd and criminal actions by Donald Trump, the source was somewhat ambiguous. It was revealed that Christopher Steele, a former British spy, had accumulated the information, and was the author of the dossier, but how it came into the FBI’s hands was uncertain.
Arizona Senator John McCain learned of the information while at a meeting in Canada with Sir Andrew Wood, a close associate of former Prime Minister Tony Blair. McCain dispatched an aide to London to obtain a copy of Steele’s report. When he received it, he turned it over to FBI Director James Comey sometime during the summer.
The fact that this dossier contained information which could have ended Trump’s campaign, and Comey kept it a secret until well after the election, raises multiple questions.
First; how closely did Comey and the FBI investigate the allegations contained in the 35 pages? Second; why did Comey choose to release information to Republicans regarding the reopening of Hillary’s use of a private e-mail server just 11 days before the election, but there was never a mention of the information relating to Trump’s alleged actions? Third; after the security briefing attended by Trump informing him of the dossier ended, why did Comey rush to inform Trump regarding details contained in the document?
One source claimed that the origination of the report came from Jeb Bush’s camp. After he dropped out of the race, a Democrat sought the information. There was no name given, and no statement that Hillary Clinton or any of her team was involved.
Knowing everything else alleged or confirmed regarding Trump’s sexual escapades, this comes as no surprise. Trump has always considered himself above the law, and views women as sexual objects. If this dossier surprised anyone, they must have been hiding under a rock for the last 40 years.
During the time McCain obtained the report, he was a member of the “never Trump” club, although he did say that he would vote for him. Really?
If the information in the dossier can be substantiated, what will hypocrites such as Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Ted Cruz, Lindsey Graham, and Mitch McConnell do about it? Knowing the weakness of the men in Republican leadership, probably nothing. Republican politicians and Republican voters have no concern for scandal, unless it would cost them an election. They’re used to it. Just look at Mark Sanford, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Giuliani, Dennis Hastert, and dozens more failed members of the GOP.
Yes my fellow Americans who failed to vet Trump and voted for him, you have given us a man who is a liar, a criminal, and a man who has no morals. He is your president; he will never be mine.
