For far too long Trump has rejected the media. His false claims that they do not tell the truth are not only foolish, they are embarrassing for the illegitimate president. One of Trump’s first acts as president was to order his new press secretary, Sean Spicer, to tell the biggest lie ever offered from a representative of a president’s administration.

Although the aerial view of Trump’s sad inauguration showed the smallest crowd in decades, this is the lie Spicer told the press.

“This was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration — period — both in person and around the globe,” Spicer said. And he added a scolding about widespread reports that differ from his evidence-free assessment: “These attempts to lessen the enthusiasm of the inauguration are shameful and wrong.”

Spin Doctor Kellyanne Conway had a new term to describe Spicer’s claim; “alternative facts.” I can’t make this s**t up.

Is this what we can expect for four years? When Trump declares war on China, will Spicer be ordered to lie and tell the media that ‘negotiations are going well with China?’ When he decides to murder thousands of Americans by taking away their healthcare, and not replacing it, will he continue to say; “we’re working on a replacement, and it will be huge?”

Ari Fleischer, George W. Bush’s press secretary commented on Spicer’s blatant falsehood.

“This is called a statement you’re told to make by the President. And you know the President is watching,” Fleischer wrote. (MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski pegged it as “Sean Spicer’s first hostage video.”)

Trump hates the truth; he has never met a lie he didn’t love. This is the only tactic he understands. When he spoke at his inauguration, telling the American people that they would get their country back, he told the biggest lie of all. His circle of sinners is composed of greedy, self-serving millionaires and billionaires who are not only out of touch with mainstream Americans, they don’t care.

This is going to be a long four years. Even if Trump is impeached, and that is highly probable, Mike Pence will be not better. Pence has adopted homophobia as his religion. Yesterday he told the press that he was ‘disappointed that so many men gave permission for their women to attend the women’s march.’ Trump is living in the 1950’s. I feel great pity for his wife.

Because of Trump’s refusal to answer serious questions when he does hold a press conference, we will never know what is happening in our nation until a disaster occurs.

All I can say is that we must fight back; this is our nation; the government does not own us; they have their privileged jobs at our discretion.
