If you are not a white, male Christian, don’t count on the Republican Party to represent you in Washington. Today Donald Trump completed his dossier; no, not the ‘Golden Showers Dossier;’ he now has joined his party by waging war against most of the American people.
For decades the Republican Party has engaged in a war on women. They have denied them equality in the workplace, protection under the law, and the right to make decisions regarding their own mental and physical health. They continue to view women as second-class citizens, and will likely follow their leader in objectifying them. Nominated Attorney General, Jeff, “White Sheet,” Sessions will surely refuse to punish men who sexually assault women; Trump says that it’s their right.
The Republican Party is owned by the one-percent. GOP politicians are members of the wealthy class as lobbyists line their pockets in exchange for supporting special interests. Republicans resist an increase in the minimum wage, not because of reducing the number of jobs available; that is a proven lie. They oppose such action because they refuse to lessen their owner’s profits by a single percentage point.
There are two reasons why they oppose universal healthcare. First, they don’t give a damn about the American people. Second, they oppose anything which would force employers to spend money on those who work for them. Period. (That was for “Lyin Sean,” Trump’s press secretary).
For decades Republican politicians have viewed minorities as the enemy. White supremacy has existed within the GOP for more decades than I have lived in this country, but it often retreats into the shadows until it has a leader who openly supports it.
All Republican politicians claim to be devout Christians, and almost all of them are deceiving themselves and the American people. Because the Christian religious right has become a powerful voting bloc, which is totally Unconstitutional, the GOP has bowed to these cult leaders and supported their beliefs. The problem is that I have met only a handful of Christians who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Most are judgmental, sanctimonious, and bigoted. They have obviously read only the parts of the bible which serves their own purpose.
Did Trump start another war today between Christians and Muslims? Since November 8th Muslim Americans have lived in fear as reports of hate crimes escalated. What will happen to families who will experience separation? What will become of the students who have been accepted to our universities? What will become of Muslim businessmen and women who will be unable to perform their jobs?
Trump’s executive order banning entrance from seven Muslim country’s, except his beloved Saudi Arabia, is immoral, inhumane, and Unconstitutional. One clause clearly demonstrates Trump’s arrogance and his efforts to make our nation a fascist country.
“The religion of the individual [must be] a minority religion in the individual’s country of nationality.” In other words, they cannot be Muslim regardless of the level of persecution they face. As Reza Aslan, an author who is Muslim, writes: “A Christian fleeing discrimination in Yemen would be given entry, but a Shia facing death and starvation would not.”
This is not Christian; this is not America. This is against everything our nation has been proud of for more than 240 years. Now we have little to boast about, and much for which we must be ashamed.
I denounce Trump and his circle of sinners. In just over a week he has destroyed much of what made me proud to be an American.
