Listing Mitch McConnell’s accomplishments for the American people takes only a second; he has none. Although he has been a United States senator since 1984, he has done nothing with the exception of leading the obstructionist efforts of the Republican Party. McConnell has been in office far too long; 33 years to be exact.

McConnell is the perfect example of why term limits for congress are a must. Useless old, white men such as McConnell must be replaced with patriots who have an interest in the future or our nation.

McConnell is the primary reason why our government is dysfunctional. His promise to do nothing was kept, and the harm to the American people is immeasurable.

Possibly the most egregious act by McConnell was his refusal to hold confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland; the judge appointed by President Barrack Obama to fill the ninth seat on the Supreme Court.

In 2016, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said: “One of my proudest moments was when I told Obama, ‘You will not fill this Supreme Court vacancy,'” and in 2017, he said, “Apparently there’s yet a new standard now, which is not to confirm a Supreme Court nominee at all. I think that’s something the American people simply will not tolerate.”

The seat vacated by Antonin Scalia has remained empty for nearly one year. Once again McConnell cites his proudest moment as doing nothing.

McConnell has received more than six million dollars in salary from the American people over his excessively long tenure. Would you like to get paid for doing nothing? This six million dollar figure does not include millions of dollars from lobbyists.

I rate McConnell as one of America’s greatest traitors. He has failed the people of Kentucky, and the people of the United States. It is time not only for term limits, but also time to remove all 535 members of congress and replace them with men and women who do not consider their political party more important than the people of the United States.

McConnell is especially proud of himself because Trump has nominated Neil Gorsuch for the Court. Gorsuch is Scalia reincarnated. He will always support the right wing position and ignore the majority of Americans. This is criminal and anti-American.
