Those who did not know Donald Trump before his presidential campaign began, were unaware that he is pathological liar; now the world knows. However, he continues to have ardent support from millions of Americans. Why? There are two primary reasons; many voters remain angry with the status quo in Washington, and others agree with his views about white supremacy, Islamophobia, immigration, and sexism.
Those who are angry, I somewhat understand. However, the facts are clear, and Trump is not worthy of their support. They choose ignorance rather than the truth. They complain, but have no solutions for our nation’s ills. Neither does their illegitimate president.
They are angry that, led by traitor Mitch McConnell, congress did nothing for eight years as our problems grew larger. Republicans failed the American people, and Trump’s brainwashed supporters do not trust Democrats. The result is the rejection of the establishment.
Trump’s vile rhetoric encouraged millions of Americans who had been hiding in the shadows to come forward. Trump is supported by the Ku Klux Klan, and the Alt-Right. Thanks to our nation’s biggest mistake, white supremacy is ‘in style.’ Bigotry has become acceptable. Morals are of little importance. Blatant lies have become “alternative facts.”
Trump supporters are dangerous; they have a twisted vision of America. Fear, anger, and hatred dominate their emotions. Virtues such as tolerance, understanding, and compassion have no place within this group. For them America is a dark place; all hope is gone. They aren’t sure that Trump can change anything, but at least he’s not one of “them.”
Is this the country in which you were raised? Is this what you want it to be?
I believe in the American people; but I, too, distrust our government. They have ignored the needs and desires of the majority for far too long. The reject our diversity, and refuse to accept change; change which moves our nation forward and not into the dark past.
Join the tens of millions of Americans who believe in the future of the United States. Become an activist; be part of the revolution.
