Because he is supported by the gun lobby, the NRA, Trump ignores growing gun violence in America. Last year there were more mass shootings than days on the calendar. Women and children were the largest number of victims. Trump believes that the profits of gun manufacturers and guns sellers are more important than human life.

What trump falsely believes is that violent crime in America is increasing. Once again, you must be aware that Trump receives all of his information from cable television; he doesn’t read the President’s Daily Briefing. Really?

In another of his now infamous ‘executive orders,’ (the only “work” he has done since inauguration day), he ordered the following.

“First, I’m directing Department of Justice & Homeland Security to undertake all necessary and lawful action to break the back of the criminal cartels that have spread across our nation and are destroying the blood of our youth and other people, many other people,” Trump said. “Secondly, I’m directing Department of Justice to form a task force on reducing violent crime in America. And thirdly, I’m directing the Department of Justice to implement a plan to stop crime and crimes of violence against law enforcement officers.”

First of all, let’s take a look at what’s missing. He fails to address the excessive force and violence used by law enforcement against African Americans and Hispanics in our nation’s cities. As a loyal white supremacist, he believes the more black men, women, and children who die at the hands of law enforcement the better for white America.

Trump’s assumptions are all wrong. Violent crime across the nation has decreased, with the exception of the city of Chicago, which has a myriad of serious problems including community relations.

Violent crime in America reached its peak in 1991. Statistics show that since that year, violent crime has fallen by 51 percent. The National Crime Victimization Survey reveals that violent crime since 1993 has been reduced from 79.8 to 23.2 victimizations per 1,000 people.

This is what happens to people when everything they know comes from the “boob tube.”

Now we understand another reason why Trump selected Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary; she is as well educated as her boss.
