“I find it very interesting that the chancellor saw teachers that were pushing rigorous learning, students asking each other high-level questions and cultivating high-level responses, and teachers who take initiative and give their lives to the education of these children,” said Jefferson teacher Caroline Hunt. “DeVos saw something so different. … Maybe if DeVos knew more about education she would realize just how amazing the students, teachers and staff are.”

Although Betsy DeVos was confirmed as Education Secretary, the American people continue to ask; why? DeVos is a billionaire with no experience at any level of education. Until she received her post, she had never set foot in a public school. The former statement was offered by a teacher from the Jefferson Middle School Academy in Washington D.C.

DeVos led a life of privilege. She went to private schools. She failed to experience diversity, or the challenges of under-funded institutions where teachers frequently pay for a portion of the student’s supplies.

“Experience is the best teacher.” This axiom is one of the most accurate statements in history. Without any experience in education, DeVos is one of Trump’s many poor decisions. Education is primary for the future of our nation. DeVos will move us backwards, not forwards.

The school board has commended Jefferson for ‘turning the school around’ in recent years. Students have shown enormous improvement. The dedicated faculty has been credited with the change. But DeVos didn’t see it that way.

“They’re waiting to be told what they have to do, and that’s not going to bring success to an individual child,” DeVos told a columnist for the conservative online publication Townhall. “You have to have teachers who are empowered to facilitate great teaching.”

DeVos has experienced protests at every venue she attends; and they will not cease. It appears that Trump is consciously trying to destroy our nation from the inside out. In just four weeks his decisions have weakened our nation by increasing the division between us. Americans are filling our city’s streets with protests. There is no support for Trump and his circle of sinners.

It appears that Trump believed he would receive the same Support Adolf Hitler experienced in 1933, but it’s not happening. Americans love their country, and will fight to the death if necessary to resist fascism.

My advice to your illegitimate president; quit while you are able. The American people will never accept a dictator who lives a life of luxury while the poverty level grows.
