Jason Chaffetz, Republican Representative from Utah, has done nothing for you or me, and nothing for the people of Utah. Chaffetz is the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee. He wasted millions of dollars, and hundreds of hours investigating the tragedy in Benghazi. When he believed that Hillary Clinton would win the election, he promised never-ending investigations into her use of private e-mails, and anything else he could dream up. When asked why he refused to investigate Trump for ethics violations, and his connections with Vladimir Putin, he said that ‘it would be premature.’ Hypocrite.
Yesterday Chaffetz revealed that his mental acuity is even more lacking. Republicans are the ‘party of destruction.’ Sadly they do not have anyone qualified to reconstruct what they destroy. Since it became law, House Republicans have done little, but they have attempted to repeal the Affordable Care Act at least 54 times. Now that “Double-Dealing Donnie” is infesting the White House, Republicans are repealing the ACA, and have offered a plan of their own, which literally no one likes.
Known as Obamacare, the original law was considered by most intelligent Americans as a ‘beginning.’ We knew that it would need modifications, but the most serious needs of the uninsured were addressed. But Republicans don’t know how to fix anything.
Chaffetz defended Republican’s feeble attempt. There will be no subsidies; they want to offer tax credits. The problem is that most of the 22 million people who signed up for Obamacare don’t pay taxes on their very low incomes.
Chaffetz offered a solution; don’t purchase an i-Phone. Really.
“Well, we’re getting rid of the individual mandate. We’re getting rid of those things that people said that they don’t want. … Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice. So rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on that, maybe they should invest in their own health care.”
Chaffetz once again showed his ignorance, but more importantly, he is in denial. His base salary is $174,000 a year. Add to that a bonus for being the Chairman of a committee, his excellent benefits package, the fact that he receives all of this for working less than 100 days a year, and less than 100 hours each month, and the thousands of dollars his “campaign fund” receives from lobbyists, we have legitimate reasons to hate him. He doesn’t believe that the American people are worthy of what he receives.
Estimates from the experts claim that the ‘sad’ Republican plan will eliminate as many as 20 million of the 22 million who are now covered.
Let’s be honest; Republicans don’t know how to do anything right. They constantly fail the majority of Americans. The GOP is the party of special interests, and not the working class.
Chaffetz must be included in the ‘worst of the worst.’ He joins Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz, Donald Trump, and Trump’s entire circle of sinners; the most unqualified group of advisers and cabinet members in American history.
I encourage you to hate him. The American people must reject the immoral hypocrites in the Republican Party.
Don’t forget; Chaffetz is up for reelection in November of 2018.
