Our founding fathers considered the first amendment to the Bill of Rights the most important section in the Constitution. It offers freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to vote, freedom of religion, while forbidding a national religion, and the right to address grievances. Fascism rejects every one of these precepts.

Donald Trump and his Republican cronies would love to repeal the first amendment. They cannot accept the truth, and therefore would love to eliminate free speech, and the freedom of the press. In red states Republicans are attempting to suppress votes by instituting laws focused towards minorities. Because they are partially owned by the Christian religious right, they would establish Christianity as our national religion. Now several states are passing laws which virtually forbid the right to protest.

Beginning last November 8^th, protests denouncing the illegitimate presidency of Trump have been virtually continuous. More than one-half of all Americans will never accept Trump as our nation’s leader. 17 states who supported Trump are now attempting to pass legislation which would restrict protests.

“Over the past year, a historic level of activism and protest has spilled out into our nation’s parks, streets, and sidewalks — places where our First Amendment rights are at their height,” Lee Rowland and Vera Eidelman wrote in an article published by Common Dreams. “The January 21 Women’s March, anchored in D.C. with echoes across the nation, was likely the single largest day of protest in American history. And yet, legislators in many states have followed up on this exuberant activism with proposed bills that are not only far less inspiring, but also unconstitutional.”

No president in history has received such enormous backlash. He is under attack for his lack of morals, his Constitutional violations, and his prejudices. Simply put, Trump is unfit to infest the White House.

Even if you supported Trump, you must fight against his efforts to repeal the first amendment.

There is an enormous amount of ‘fake news,’ including FOX, Breitbart, Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and others. However, the New York Times, CNN, the BBC, the Guardian, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, and others are factual, and offer the American people necessary and vital information. All television broadcasts on the major networks offer incomplete information. Their stories seldom include all of the facts, and are often slanted towards one side of the issue.

We must fight for everyone’s first amendment rights. If we succeed, we can prevent a fascist from destroying democracy forever, and take our country back.
