Will the Republican Party be Charged with Murder, or Just Cruel and Unusual Punishment Under ‘Trumpcare?’

The cost of healthcare in America has always been a great concern for the working class. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s. As it was with most ‘baby boomers,’ we grew up in modest homes; many of us surviving with very low income earning parents.

My brother and I were raised by a single mother. She worked hard for the necessities; it was rare that any money was spent for luxuries. Fortunately she had healthcare at her place of employment. If we had been required to pay several outrageous medical bills, we would surely have become homeless.

As I entered high school, and became more aware of others who lived in nations which offered universal healthcare, I began to ask a simple question; ‘why not us?’ I knew that we were the richest nation in the world, but a country which offered the fewest social programs for the majority of its people.

During studies of ‘economics’ and social studies, I learned that we had the largest military in the world. The United States spent five-times more money than all other nations in the world. Throughout the time I attended school, until my high school graduation in 1964, America averaged more that $350 billion each year in military spending. For the fiscal year 2017, the Pentagon will receive $853.6 billion.

The base salaries for 435 members of the House, and 100 members of the Senate is $174,000 per year. Thanks to Mitch McConnell, congress accomplished very little during the eight years of the Obama Administration. That means that the American taxpayer experienced a waste of $93,090,00 each year, and that does not include medical benefits and retirement.

Why is this important? Because Republicans are pushing for the American Health Care Act. It will fail before your illegitimate president signs it into law. As many as 26 million Americans will lose their healthcare, and the costs will become prohibitive for Americans living in low-income and poverty levels.

Healthcare should be a right, and not a privilege for higher income levels and those who do nothing in Washington.

The ignorance and lack of compassion by those we elect have caused catastrophic conditions in our nation. Lack of adequate health insurance, combined with the unrestricted costs of patient care and pharmaceuticals, forced thousands of Americans to virtually lose everything they owned. Many families were forced into homelessness. This is unforgivable.

Under ‘Obamacare,’ thousands of our nation’s people were able to receive healthcare which literally saved their lives. Under ‘Trumpcare,’ many of these individuals will no longer be covered, and their fate is dire.

‘Obamacare’ had problems, but they could have been repaired. Republicans don’t know how to take and complete any positive actions for the majority of Americans. Their plan will destroy the life-saving aspects of President Obama’s plan.

Republicans must pay for this. They should be prosecuted for murder, or at the very least cruel and unusual punishment for the needless pain and suffering they will cause.

Please re-post; thank you.
