Trump is a schoolyard bully, and nothing else. He is a failure as our nation’s illegitimate president, and has failed in his past life at every venture he attempted. If he would reveal his tax returns, the world would know the truth. The Republican Party became the party of hypocrites after he was elected. Their agenda, to support special interests and destroy the working class became a possibility. A small sector of GOP politicians continue to have concerns for the majority, but will they have the courage to stand up to Trump’s demands as their elected fuhrer?
Many Republicans in name only are opposed to Trumpcare. It is a failure before it comes to a vote. It was scheduled for a vote in the House today, but the party’s biggest hypocrite, Paul Ryan, was unable to secure a number of votes to guarantee passage; it was postponed. This did not fare well with Trump and his extremely weak temperament. He has now ordered his party to take a vote tomorrow. Regardless of the outcome, this is a major defeat for Trump and his cronies.
“‘Negotiations are over, we’d like to vote tomorrow and let’s get this done for the American people.’ That was it,” Rep. Duncan Hunter of California said as he left the meeting, summarizing Mulvaney’s message to lawmakers.
And if the vote fails, Obamacare “stays for now,” Hunter said.
“Let’s vote,” White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said as he left the meeting.
The implications are important for both the American people and the GOP. If it passes, the American people will be displeased and continue their protests. If it fails it will further divide the Republican Party and empower Democrats. The bill is so horrific that the outcome will damage the party for months and years to come.
Democrats are opposed to this bill, but so are many Republicans who are honestly facing its inequities.
“In the final analysis, this bill falls short,” GOP Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington state said in a statement Thursday as she became the latest rank-and-file Republican, normally loyal to leadership, to declare her opposition. “The difficulties this bill would create for millions of children were left unaddressed,” she said, citing the unraveling of Medicaid.
Trumpcare was hastily assimilated, and has many inclusions which make it an extremely poor piece of legislation.
Here’s the truth. Obamacare was a beginning. Its basics are sound, but instead of offering measures to repair the legislation, Trump, Ryan, and the ego of others became more critical than providing healthcare for tens of millions of Americans.
Republicans have two faults: they have no interest in the future of the American people, and they support special interests before the majority.
The 2018 midterms are coming; vote.
