Days ago I wrote an article stating the Michael Flynn would not go away. Yesterday the man himself added more ‘fuel to the fire’ of suspicion and assumption. Flynn’s lawyer told the press that he would testify in the Senate hearings about the Trump-Putin connection, but only if he received immunity from prosecution. The attorney claims that ‘he has a story to tell.’
This story began with an investigation by the House Intelligence Committee, with Republican Devin Nunes as its chairman. After a single day of questioning, Nunes made a visit to the White House. Subsequently, all future hearings were canceled. An investigation by the Senate Intelligence Agency began yesterday.
Flynn is currently under investigation for federal violations, including consulting with a foreign agent during the campaign, and working for a foreign country while engaged in a political campaign. Therefore, Flynn’s request for immunity could be construed in multiple ways. However, as many additional Trump supporters have been added to the investigation, Flynn provided the impetus to seek answers and a conclusion to a Russian attack on America and probable collusion with your illegitimate president.
The Senate committee has already decided that Trump was aware of Putin’s efforts to harm Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and he supported those efforts.
If all of these allegations are proven to be fact, this is far more serious than ‘Watergate.’ I have never agreed with Dick Cheney once in my life, but that changed a couple of days ago. Cheney stated that Russia’s attack on our electoral process is an ‘act of war.’
The American people are beginning to understand Trump’s consistent praise for Putin. Even when Trump was asked about Putin’s execution of his detractors, he continued to defend the autocrat. It was only suspicion during the campaign when Trump was asked about his association with Putin, and he said “I never met the man.” This was his first lie about his relationship with the Russian president, and other oligarchs. We know that he made at least two trips to Moscow; one in 2007, and another in 2013.
Trump continues to believe that the American people will accept lies as “alternative facts.”
This is the saddest time in American history. Not only do we have a White House administration whose goal is to “make America white again,” we are learning that a foreign nation assisted in the election of an illegitimate president.
If the final decision offers proof that Trump was at the center of Russia’s intervention into our election, the American people must add House Republicans, including Paul Ryan, to their list of enemies. The Party of Destruction is composed of hypocrites and liars, and they must be forced to retire.
November 2018 is coming soon.
