Trump demands unbridled loyalty from his staff, but he does not offer the same to them. His reported fits of rage place their jobs in jeopardy at any moment. When it was reported that he demanded a ‘loyalty oath’ from the former FBI Director, James Comey, political writers and politicians themselves were shocked and disgusted. Although the FBI Director works ‘at the pleasure of the president,’ it functions as an independent agency designed to investigate potential crimes within the United States, and by United States citizens.

Trump is unqualified to be the President of the United States; that is now obvious to everyone. One of the prime reasons he is unfit is his unwillingness to accept advice or criticism. Trump is a rare person; someone who actually believes that he is always right, and that, alone, is proof of a serious mental deficiency.

Great presidents normally surround themselves with great people; competent advisers. Trump has none. His first two choices are despicable men who have no ability to perform their jobs in an intelligent manner.

Steve Bannon is the former executive director of Brietbart, a publication for those on the most extreme right of center. It constantly publishes articles in support of white nationalism, Islamophobia, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and misogyny. He is Trump’s chief strategist.

Jeff Sessions was a senator from Alabama; that basically says it all. He was denied a federal judgeship more than 30 years ago when it was discovered that he was a racist. Throughout his career in Alabama and then in the United States Senate he has revealed himself to be a white supremacist. Many, myself included, surmise that he has a hooded white robe in his closet. He is now Trump’s Attorney General.

It only got worse from that point on.

Many of his cabinet members and appointees to vital agencies, previously opposed those very organizations. None are qualified to hold public office, with the single exception of Nikki Haley, the former Governor of South Carolina, who is now the United States Ambassador to the United Nations.

If this did not frighten you, you are extremely uninformed about how effective government operates.

First of all, loyalty must go both ways. Secondly, and most importantly, it is important to surround oneself with men and women who have ideas opposed to your own. This is how competent and rational decisions about serious matters are achieved. No one who knows Trump, likes him; he is a dictator who loves only himself.

Trump must go by whatever means possible, and the sooner the better. We must save our country from a man and his circle of sinners who are not true Americans.
